No - 1News can't do that. To do that would imply a willingness to actually listen to both parties, and a willingness to see what the actual treaty of Waitangi says and not merely go along with what the activists claim it says.

The end to socialism is here? Are you kidding me? The elites in the world are freaking out because it looks more like the end of capitalism is approaching at a faster and faster rate and they can't think of anyway to unwind it. Unfortunately, too many people have been brainwashed to vote for things that serve the interests of the world's billionaires by the same kinds of organisations that control the Act Party and NZ First. They don't care about accurately representing the views of the people. They care about researching the right issues and narratives to promote, to get them in to power so they can use that power to divide and conquer and walk away with more wealth for themselves. But the whole system is now starting collapse under the weight of its own contradictions.

These were thousands of Maori and Pacific people who were saved. Not privileged young people who had been to the private St Cuthberts!! Her previous work was with lobbyists. Lots of questions to this. First, who defines expert? There is no way to demonstrate expertise with empirical testing, an expert is simply any clever person who has thought about it a lot. But these are fundamental questions, and it is not clear that any one view is more valuable than another's. These are fundamental constitutional issues that in liberal countries are decided by the people. Second, what happens when experts 'on both sides' disagree? Which by definition they must, as they are on different sides. What other way is there to resolve a dispute between experts if not by going to the people? Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and others believed all racial discrimination was wrong and were against affirmative action and quotas. Ibrahim X Kendi and Al Sharpton disagree. How do we resolve this if not by the will of the people?@@jame2433

I read it and to me it seems to say the Maori give sovereignty to the monarchy in exchange for equal rights and treatment as equal citizens. Whatever Maori want I'm generally fine with so long as we give those rights to all citizens rather than exclusively to one race (Maori). Honestly thought the best solution is for us to declare independence from the crown and for a new republic with a constitution laying out the rights of everyone. This would render everyone equal and invalidate the treaty.

So you'd be okay if the Maori party randomly signed your sovereignty over to a random overseas colonial force, say the Spanish in "exchange for equal rights and treatment as equal citizens" without your consult as an individual, let alone as a people? Maori always get told it was better we got the British and not the French or Spanish, so logically you'd know the Spanish wouldn't have pakeha rights at the forefront. The same can be said W Maori rights and this proposed Bill, most Maori are aware that this bill is not in our best interest let alone will it do anything to make a positive impact for us - the bills and acts going through right now say nothing about rewriting pakeha rights or the erasure of them altogether so it really is just some weird powerplay to make pakeha feel included or to place them on a pedestal, yet again. Question, some Maori on Maori land are not allowed to trim or cut back trees (regardless of their native status, could be a blue gum) that become a threat to human life or their home - if they do cut the trees to save their home and lives they get hit w potential alienation breaches. If they leave the land and don't cut the trees, doc and the public works can claim the land after 30 years, probably alot earlier in some cases. This doesn't happen to anyone else's land or assets in nz, and I'm wondering if these are the "rights" the majority population in nz would love to be subject to aswell. And the Maori scholarships too, check out hauraki plains college - with confirmation from old students that went to school W the older siblings of said recipients that those kids had not one drop of Maori in them - they were also greedy w the scholarships. Scholarships are usually bound by expiry dates and if you get scholarships in otago, Hamilton, Wellington and Auckland realistically unless you come from money already you won't be able to attend all universities simultaneously. Once they choose their preferred campus, the other scholarships don't get recycled - no one else will get an opportunity to access said scholarship for the rest of the year. This behaviour from Pakeha students really distorts the statistics as it depicts that Maori have claimed all the Maori scholarships, but there's no breakdown of non Maori access and successful application rates. Like it'd be nice if they said here's x (total $ given out for Maori scholarships) here's the breakdown percentages of the successful applicants. Even Maori healthcare is open fully to the public, so everything saying Maori get more rights than everyone else is baffling. We get far less rights, people just don't care to look into the reality of things bc it doesn't affect them personally and they don't ever think it will.

Also the fact that the minority population has several very complex factors to consider which range across nearly all facets of society, culture and science. On top of that, the document has been translated between Te Reo Maori and English making it an even bigger challenge to interpret correctly. When considering all of this, does it really make sense to put these decisions in the hands of lay New Zealanders who have little understanding of all of this and expect an outcome that is in any way good or fair for both parties involved?
