Wouldn't be sure about that. The ones you (and I as well) see on youtube are just the ones that are not pro-war, but I'd be surprised if there were no songs which speak more glorifyingly of war. (actually now that I think of it, there are definitely some Russian singers who write songs glorifying the war in Ukraine at the moment, not gonna link them though because I absolutely do not wish to support them in any way)

My dad served for 3 years during the Vietnam War in air defense in the C-75 (the so-called “flying telegraph poles”). His military unit was near Moscow. Some soldiers were sent on missions to Vietnam to protect them from American aircraft. When the soldiers returned, they told a lot of interesting things. During the first missile launches, they used to shoot down several American planes at once with one missile, since they initially flew in dense groups. From this unit, all the guys returned home alive and healthy. One was actually wounded: he was a truck driver and during a raid by American planes he was lying in the cab with his legs out the window... so a stone flew into his foot as an American bomb exploded.

Im living in a central part of Russia (Nizhniy Novgorod city) and recently went to a local restaurant of asian food for a buisness lunch. Ordered my stuff, walking in a hall, looking for a free sit and suddenly spotted two men in their ~mid 70s, just chilling there, eating, seemingly talking about stuff, one of them had a shirt with a map of socialist vietnam and aviators on, while another was rocking a full set of typical soviet clothes from 1960's with army coat on top and tattoos, they had that kinda vibe... definitely looked like two guys who were involved in Vietnam war on side of USSR as instructors or something else, liked it there and were remembering their time while eating some food from that region.

Wrong translation. The word палач (palatsh) means an executioner, hangman or even (non literally) butcher, but not warrior. . So the Fantom pilot was a butcher killing innocent civilians. That's why he says in the end that he will never see his parents again. As much as I know, most of the captured US military men returned home except war criminals who were sued and punished.
