In this video I take you to a place in Chitral Pakistan where you will meet the speakers of old Avestan Language, the language of Zoroastrian scripture (the Avesta). The form of Avestan spoken here is called Yadgha locallly. This is mother tongue language of small number of people in Parabeg valley of Garamcasha.

The Avestan and ancient vedic are cousin languages are the mothers of all indo Iranian languages. Yadgha is Eastern Iranian language it is very similar to not only Avestan the holy language of Zoroastrians but also MIDDLE or Pehlavian Persian Persian which became extinct after the Sasanids.
