I had no idea that chipmunks eat meat too! I just assumed that they ate nuts and seeds. I first noticed chipmunks because of their speed. One day I was walking with a friend on campus and I asked her if she saw that really fast squirrel and she told me that it was a chipmunk, LOL. They are incredible runners! Both squirrels and chipmunks are so cute!

Basically there's a lot of overlap with some generalized though sometimes not absolute differences. The tails strips and boroughs I think are the keys here.
