I have just come back from Shenzhen. I can attest that the crowd situation is crazy and I was there on the eve of labour day.

I always wonder why they even bother to go to tourist spots knowing there will be tons of people there. They need to learn to stay home during the holidays.

They merely count tickets and people passing by through area's. For example to go from one province to the next, you might have to take several trains, busses and through many checkpoints which are all counted as trips by a person. So a single person can even be considered to have been on over dozens of trips during the golden week.

这里的出行主要是以乘坐公共交通来记录的，正常出行的话，一个人来回会被记录两次，如果他前往多个地区（乘坐多次公共交通）就会被记录多次，所以你看到这个数字很多（当然也存在自己驾车等无法被准确记录的人），实际上中国出行的人数肯定不到人口的十分之一，因为还有很多人需要工作（比如酒店或者餐馆、旅游行业），且有很多人在所在城市休假

China is really not worried about population decline; in fact in 100 years from now, if China's population drops by 75%, she'll still have as many people as USA does right now....which is already a bit too much.

I think China needs to restructure their holidays system, it MAY help alleviate the overcrowding if people are given the opportunity to take some holiday at another time without penalty. As it stands at the moment, nearly EVERYONE is on holiday at the same time! CRAZY situations occur . I live in China AND NEVER go to a tourist spot during a major holiday destination as it's horrendous!😮

10km walk is easy.

10 km is manageable for most adults and maybe some kids. for seniors, it will depend how healthy the senior is for sure but most of them will likely not make it. going down the mountain is much harder than going up.

Too many people...means you cant have natural hiking trails. I think a lot of Chinese actually enjoy moving in thick crowds... For the rest who actually want to enjoy nature...dont ever travel out during a Chiese holiday. Even avoid nearny tourist countries like Thailand during the Chinese holidays

If this is the chaitic way Chinese organized their tourist visitors then I would like to see how chaotic it's army would organized its troops during war time... 2 things: Why do people always feel obliged to fly or go somewhere on vacation? Like honestly...honestly...how fun is it? Its more stress than fun. How much more enlightened does all that traveling make you. Not much from what i can tell. Alot of times, just crashing out and chilling makes you realize how tired your body is and how much that rest makes you feel much more alive and conscious. Second thing: why do the Chinese still take pride in their intelligence when they repeatedly have things like this happen?
