Chinese People HATE Mulan... and it's Hilarious!
Disney tried to prioritize the China market over the rest of the world, and sold its morals with it. Despite the grand effort to appeal to a Chinese audience, Mulan was pirated before release, still flopped, and was decimated from terrible reviews on the Chinese internet. lol.

Failed in the Western market and failed in the Chinese market. Hope Disney learned that sometime two negatives don't equal a positive.
I'm sure someone commented "if i hadn't pirated this i would want my money back".
xi looks so much like whinnie the pooh in a lot of his pictures its almost like hes doing it on purpose :)
Remember when Disney fired James Gunn over his twitter and Disney said, "inconsistent with our studio’s values". Yeah, after this movie now we know what kind of vision disney have.
Glad that Mulan is a flop, even in China.
This movie was absolutely horrible. Disney deserves the backlash
Stop insulting Winnie the Pooh by comparing him unfavourably with Xi Jinping
“If you dance with the devil, then you haven’t got a clue, for you think you’ll change the devil, but the devil changes you.”― J.M. Smith,
there's a old rule that current business, political etc leaders seem to have forgotten. that is you should never try to trade your customer base for another. Sure you should grow your base but don't try to abandon one base for another
the original cartoon wasn't even historically accurate to begin with, and with the movie it just got even more fictional
Disney pissed off the Chinese and Western market lmao
This is so heartwarming. The one thing that could bring China together with the Western world: hating Disney.
There's this native American saying that goes " If you try to chase two rabbits at once, you will lose them both"
1998 - Disney takes stand against china from banning mulan, directors took time to learn about chinese culture, massive hit.
Disney: we wanna make this more realistic and serious so we'll remove the dragon and the songs
Disney: we removed Mushu or historical accuracy
Disney movies then: The beautiful childhood memories.
Best Chinese comment on social media, "they can't even tell the story right."
I'm Asian and is born in a very traditionally oriented country. For me Hua Mulan was someone who I really could relate to. Especially pressure we face about marriage from a very young age. I was torn apart between wanting to be myself and not being able to be the person my family wants me to be. It really felt like I was breaking their heart. And I know many girls that go through it. Mulan was someone I could look up too as a kid. But new Mulan says to young girls that they need to be born with 'Qi' to be special, or to be master of their lives. It sucks. They blow up such a good opportunity to give many young girls a role model and healthy mindset.
