Chinese New Year flash mob surprises tourists in SW China
To welcome the Chinese New Year, China Media Group and Chengdu Television Station surprised tourists with a flash mob. Peter Chen, a composer from Taiwan, SE China, whose ancestral hometown is Chengdu, SW China, walked the streets of Chengdu with his guitar. Passersby couldn’t resist joining in with his inspiring melody, which was accompanied by a Sichuan Opera performance and a rap group.

I was in Chengdu about 3 years ago on my way to Daocheng and Yading. This is a beautiful city with many interesting places to visit. As a 华侨 or overseas Chinese, I am so glad and happy to see China has developed at such an amazing speed. I used to travel to China to visit factories all the way from Shenzhen in the south to Dalien in the north. The growth of some of these factories I visited was truly remarkable. I am now retired, but I still travel to China to visit places outside the main cities to photograph the landscapes and the people in these regions. This is a very moving, uplifting song and I hope every Chinese, especially the younger generations will remember these words. The future of China is in your hands and in unity you can progress much further. Happy Chinese New Year from Singapore.

No, I was born in Vietnam and I have been living in US for 45 years. Most of the overseas born Chinese has a different perspective view about China & Taiwan.

@michael douglas You're wrong, 2nd and 3rd tiers cities are not much differences from 1st tier cities. Developed Urban areas are by far larger in terms of land sizes or human population in China today, and there are about 100+ cities in China, fyi. Only a few minorities dwell in a countryside or under developed areas/region.😊
