    I've been looking at all the various makes and models of these mini skid steers for some time now. I've been comparing track systems with the numerous drive setups, hydraulic pumps and how many, diesel engines vs. gas and all the different manufacturers who make these gas engines, as well as the overall size of the machine. I don't want to make the mistake of purchasing a unit that's undersized or underpowered for what i need to do, even if its for a job outside of the scope of what it was purchased for? I want to be sure that replacement parts are available. So it boils down to doing your homework first before going out and dropping thousands of dollars on equipment that won't live up to your expectations. Don't buy something because you believe it to be a deal when it really isn't. Dad always said, a cheap man pays twice. So true! Thanks for the video. Very informative.

    Tracks are basically wide rubber chains. Tires do less damage to grass/the ground when turning. If you need to dig or push, tracks give way better traction. These exact same machines with a different name on them sold for $2,800-3,000 at auction this past week here in Texas, they had dozens of them. I picked up a new mini excavator for $3,500, that’s how I found your channel, looking for what modifications I needed to do to it.

    FYI, I looked at my machine last night and noticed there were guards around the body where the hose fittings come out, so AGT did think of adding some level of protection there.

    @@MR-gp9ys Check your tracks and make sure they have enough tension or else they will slip off. New Gas, Check the oil and change it soon. I just have 3 hours on mind and will be changing the engine oil this week. Hydraulic fill cap is suppose to vent, but does not so I modified it so it could breath. Check your hydraulic oil often. Grease your machine. Facebook has a couple of groups. Great place to get additional info. Search for Chinese mini excavator and mini skid friendly support.

    Super helpful. I have a mini ex with lots of mods. I still need some of the upgrades you sell. I'm currently shopping for a mini skid steer, but wanted to stay with the single cylinder...although I was unsure about the power. I trust your evaluation and will get a single cylinder. Thanks.

    Two more advantages of tracks over tires is they don't get flats, and they distribute the weight over a larger surface area so they might not leave too bad of a rut in the yard. It looks like a mini skid steer would be good for moving dirt, gravel or snow and smoothing out material, dirt or gravel. IMO the mini excavator can do a lot more things than a mini skid steer can, but the tasks people have would determine which machine would suit them best. I wonder how fast the mini skid steer is.

    I'll remember my QH12. I love it but feel a mini skid would be a perfect companion. My 24" tilt bucket is sweet, but a 44" bucketed skid steer would make life easier.

    Tires are better for snow pushing every time. Tires actually cause less damage on the grass for turning. Tracks do less damage only if you don’t turn tight.

    I have seen a few people say that their track spindle bearings went bad right away. Also said there was no grease in the bearings. I checked mine and same no grease. Have you run into this. And one of my bearing covers is too small and loose. I will probably have to take track off and grease all the bearings.

  • @billp3995
    @billp39952 ай бұрын

    The rear roller bearings are not sealed. The plastic covers come off with rotation. The bearings have very little grease. I greased them up, for the cover, I cut a piece of rubber hose, clamped it on the bolt collar, so it just touches the plastic cover and stopped the one that was popping off, until I sort some better. Used the same rubber hose and attached so the rad doesn’t bang on the metal rest and get damaged. Also, when I pushed into a dirt pile the right track came loose, not the threads, maybe something was position wrong when I put the track back on. Tightened and it stayed tight, someone mentioned that the plate the adjuster road is attached to needs to be reinforced. Front roller wheel needs to come off, see what kind setup is in there. Cheers.

    Hey I just bought an EG360 which looks the same as yours. My question is where can you buy parts for these units in Canada or the US? After 22hrs of operation my bearings went out and screwed up the bottom back wheel? Also, what type of hydraulic oil is used??? Thanks

    I've got one of these, the bucket dump function on the lever becomes stiff (impossible) to move after a few minutes. Do you think this is a control valve issue or cylinder issue. All other hydraulic functions operate correctly. After an extended off time the lever can again be moved.

    The mini skids seem to go on a average price more at the auctions. Even though I think that the mini excavators do a lot more tasks for the money. Mini skids are simpler in form and operation and can lift more. Unless you have prior experience mini excavators seem harder to master and therefore can’t comprehend all the tasks they actually can be useful for. So people tend to go to them first over a mini excavator for a first machine or only machine. They look at excavators as specialized equipment when it is but also a jack of all trades.

    I purchased a Roda RD50 mini dumper. It has a similar setup, with a 6.5HP Vanguard engine, and tandem pump. I don't understand why they didn't keep one pump for the drive motors and one for the tipping of the bucket/loader blade. And they have a dual spool valve on each side, one spool for the left/right drive motor, the other for tipping the bucket/loader blade. The thing is too damn slow. Just seems this should have the drive system powered with one pump, and the hydraulics on the other pump. And make the thing go faster then 1MPH. Also I got mine at an online auction that also was live. I put in a max bid of $2650, and won at $2500. With a 5% buyers premium, and 7% Iowa state sales tax, so I ended up paying $3808. The odd thing, there were two of these, the next one sold for $1600. So who was my agent at the auction, as I believe they could see my max bid, and run it up with shill bids. I still feel screwed. I was the only bidder online as no one else was bidding against me, before the live auction started. I'm really interested in making the spool valves on my AGT L12 mini-excavator (how I found your channel) to have some variable flow to reduce the jerk. I hope you continue with that issue in the future videos (reference your video Inside your Hydraulic Directional Control Valves and possible mods).
