It is an open secret that this the better way to enter the US. It take more than 10-15 years of application to do it legally whereas entering without document is almost instantly. You can start making money and live the so called American dream in about 6 months. I knew of people from different countries that came here illegally and now are doing OK or quite good. Whereas many people who opted for the legal route are still stuck.

There aren't even that many avenues to legally immigrate to the US, especially not permanently (green card). If you don't have a US citizen spouse/family member to sponsor you (this comprises of 65-70% of green cards), your options are very limited. All of those who illegally move to the US simply aren't eligible

I accidentally walked by a pop up border patrol, immigration, homeland security recruitment event last night here in southern California. There'll be another recruitment event in July, focusing on law enforcement . FYI , there's a busy 5 lines road between san Diego and TJ, people commute daily for work. If you are not a daily commuters, and accidentally stuck in the one way lane, there's no U- turn back to the US. If you don't have your passport and are force to enter to Mexico, you will be in nightmare situation for hours and hours and hope your family/ friends can bring your passport to bail you out.

And they say china is competing with usa as developed country.😂

They have been aiming Singapore for some time, next destination : Singapore. They have relatives with Sg pr aka loopholes. Ban them to work in sg.

@@misslen575 I have already watched CNA’s 3 part documentary by Wei do. They can all say what they want. Some of them rehearsed what to say. @penglim is right, “why are they going to the US illegally?” The cue there is “illegally”. There is no justification of entering a country illegally. If you are persecuted you can file for asylum. But not force yourself into a country by illegal means. Respect the country’s sovereignty to protect its borders. No sad stories here. That should be channeled to the embassy if they so choose to leave their country of origin.

I still dont get it. Why cant they just take a plane over to the usa and overstay instead of making this journey? Take a tour group or whatever.

They need to either show they have a high-paying job or they are extremely rich(basically as rich as the upper 10% in USA) and have a reasonable reason to be able to get through, those that crossed the border don’t have jobs, let alone have a trust fund.

As an American, I wish these people luck. These are exactly the type of immigrants any country would be lucky to have: educated, determined, hard-working, entrepreneurial, etc. I hope it works out for them.

@@Kray161 That's exactly my point. Chinese immigrants expect zero handouts; they just want the opportunity to work their asses off and create wealth. And their entry is not illegal; this is a legal process for seeking asylum, which is why they immediately turn themselves in to the authorities. If their asylum claims are illegitimate, they will be deported. You may not like it, but that doesn't make it illegal.

Ironic...China is the "SECOND BIGGEST ECONOMY" in the world. Have you seen, Americans doing this in China??😂😂

That's because GDP is a worthless metric of economic well-being, at least as far as ordinary people go. GDP per capita is a better metric. Countries like USA, Australia, Norway, etc are in the top 10, China and India (both have high GDP) are in the company of third world countries. All a high GDP means is they've got a few very rich people and the resources to spend on things like building the military, but it doesn't mean anything for standards of living.

Hm Chinese migrants but the question is Chinese migrants form which countries. There are Chinese in almost in every nations besides sub-saharan Africa. Even in india there are Chinese speaking people living for over a hundred years.

This is my 11th year in the U.S. and am still waiting for my permanent residency petition to be approved. As much as I resent the fact that some of the people in the documentary have received permanent residency before I could, I'm well aware of what they are up against.

The story was good. Hoping for the best for those individual.

Nope. Majority of Singaporean living abroad rarely renounce their citizenship, most are high income earners and only an average of 1000 Singaporeans renounce their citizenship each year. We have first world safety and income, why would we want to renounce our citizenship for something lesser?

Average Singaporeans are able to earn and save more money than an average American these days, and Singaporeans are able to travel more widely. Singaporeans might want to go to America for holiday or business opportunities, but hardly any wants to migrate there. That's the main difference.
