Bangladesh is suffering Floods in Moonson and Drought in Winter just because of So many Indian Dams on Shared Rivers. One the worst is in case of Teesta and Farakkha Dam. Though Bangladesh receives some water from Ganga which is through Farakkha Dam but Due to Mamata Banerjee's stand still, Bangladesh is deprived of Teesta water for so many years. Our northern part got dried during winter. Farmers got no water for cultivation. This is huge crime that india is doing for long time.

Tibet is short of water, and the water volume of the river on the Chinese side is very small. Even if it is completely blocked, the downstream water volume will only be reduced by 14%. But because the water rushes down from a height, it is very powerful. So it can generate electricity.
@raimsdayer4488

It can easily be stopped by construction of reservoirs and dams
Sir am first to view and a regular follower of your videos. The way you have used the time scale to explain the medeival and the modern history is amazing. Can you please suggest me some books please sir for my UPSC preparation
I don't think that the speed of water as the reason for bringing calamity to Indian territory is correct. First, the river water is flowing through valleys being slowed down due friction by the floorand sides of the valley. So even when this water enters India the water speed is not likely to be catastrophically high. Second, the flow in Arunachal is confined to a narrow swath due to flow in valley. So the destruction will not be huge. Third, the dams will be in series (tandem on the same river). So even if the water is released simultaneously from all dams, it will have to pass through the sluice gates of the downstream dams, which can allow a certain amount of waterflow, preventing any immensly catastrophic deluge to be caused. Fourth, only 31% of Brahmaputras rainwater comes from Tibet. Rest od the water is added downstream in India. Fifth, the main cause of devastation in such scenario would be from flooding in the plains. Last, since war here is likely to be fought only after monsoons, if they let go off all the stored water, their electricity generation will be hit badly. I dont think that they would do it.

@@saurabh-tp7hs what about Farakka dam?! What about Gazaldoba barrage? India has destroyed the ecology in northern Bangladesh by diverting water unlawfully. And are still doing so. Teesta has been killed by building countless Dams in India. Now, flood and drought have become a cycle of misery for the people of Bangladesh.

Good points. But you’ve ignored the ecological impacts of altering water flow at will. It’ll cause significant damage to the economy of NE India and Bangladesh. Adverse Economic impact = Political unrest. China is a country that will use weapons not only during wars but aldo during peace time. Corona was their weapon on the entire world economy while their’s kept growing on the misery of others. So, you fo need a more complete perspective, good points are not good enough.

The best way for india to secure its national interest is to forge friendship with China. India is at geopolitcal disadvantage by treating China as rival and enemy. The water sources is in China teritory, and India population center is near border while on China side is huge barren land. In war, it is clear which side casualty will be greatest..

There are two hydropower projects under construction in Arunachal Pradesh now, the 600 MW Kameng project on the Bichom and Tenga rivers, and the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectricity Project. All three rivers are tributaries of the Brahmaputra. The Dibang hydro power project just got stage 2 approval from MoEFCC which is a 2,880 MW project. So our government is trying it's best too counter any sudden inflow of water from Chinese dams and create electricity while they are at it!
@jaideep.101

@M T The thing is that China is very beneficial strategically with Brahamaputra river also our flora & fauna will get effected by it. China wants to extract hydroenergy, whereas India deeply values its water supply and storage. Brahamaputra drainage area is 5.9% of total geographical area of our country. So, we can assume what effects will it leave for our country

@@joemed02 locals are against it. This is a one of the most earthquake prone areas of the world. Brahmaputra is made of Lohit, Dibang, Siang, Subansiri, Kameng, Manas, Torsa and Teesta rivers. These are the major feeders whereas there are tens of smaller feeders which itself are very big when you compare it to other rivers in the subcontinent.
Thank You
