Chinese beggar thug schooled!

Beggar gangs are notoriously bad here in China, tied to organised crime and human trafficking, I had a run in with a leader of one of these gangs over the Chinese New year, and I think it's important to tell you all the story...

    Because it has good content. I don't think Mr. Serpent is catering to a mass audience. To me, there's a direct correlation between popularity and lack of integrity. What I mean is, he's probably not afraid of losing his following, because the people that are here want to be here. If he had 2-4 million followers, he might start to compromise himself to please that large group. I miss TV channels like Discovery and History. I think Winston could have easily fit in there (or the travel channel?) during the 90s and early 00s.

    when i was visiting China, I was out in a bar on the street celebrating my birthday. my friend had bought me a pair of unicorn balloons and we were having a great time, when one of those poor little girls came up to sell us roses. it was about 1am and this young girl was being herded around by a woman to sell flowers. i told her i didn't want to buy a rose, but i wanted to give her a balloon, and we had a quick chat about which one she wanted and i tied it to her wrist so it wouldn't fly away and she looked so happy as she left but the woman watching her was pissed off.

    dont take this as criticism but living in a third world it sometimes astonishes me how naive people of the west are because they live such sheltered lives. These horrors happen all the time . young children begging in the streets even at midnight what does a 7yr old boy on his own do outside this time of the night? Here it is normal.Violent armed robberies, blowing up cash in transit vans . Hardley makes the papers it is an common daily occurence. We are not even surprised or shocked when a business down the road gets attacked we shrug our shoulders and say thanks it was not me this time. We go on with our lives and try to survive. And here I talk about personal experience what I litterally experience every day I step out of my heavely fortified home steel bars on all windows, steel security gates on all doors even steel gates inside the house to protect us against intruders, electrical wiring on the 2 meter high wall around my house. alarms to the quick response security company. Forget about the police they might or might not show up 2 days later maybe . And dont think it happens only in the bad areas its exactly the same in the affluent suburbs.

    I work in healthcare and many of the people I meet through this work will beg in the inner cities of Melbourne & Sydney. They make soooo much money. Its crazy. I know drug users who beg and it goes to what they earn. Even buskers make a lot of money. I'm shocked people are happy to give money to beggars but don't like to donate to charities. People who give money to beggars are enablers. If you donate to charities, as long as it is a transparent, reputable charity, the money will filter back to the people. Giving money directly towards a beggar goes towards drugs, alcohol or junk food. Buy someone a healthy meal at the Hare Krishna restaurant Crossways if you're at Melbourne, its only $5 for all you can eat curries with vegetables, custard + halava deserts and drinks... all for $5 dollars (if the person is homeless they should have a concession entitlement). Its a few more dollars for those without concession, but still the best place for homeless in Melbourne. Even better - if you want a free meal (because you are homeless) they will let you volunteer and help, and give you a free meal!

    I don't have a problem giving a few coins to a busker though if they're good and not just causing noise pollution. They're out there for hours actually trying to do something they're good at for money and if their playing is good it can add a nice atmosphere to your walk into work. I know of one guy in particular who's often playing in the city. Almost certainly due to his age he's retired, but he plays a variety of instruments from what looks like some kind of traditional string instrument to an accordian and he's really talented.(I've heard all sorts of recognisable classical music being played by him.) Good on him if he can make some extra cash to supplement his retirement and it wouldn't shock me if he can make enough to live on doing that as he's often out there for hours at a time multiple days a week. There's another guy who has buckets and crates and things and plays the drums on them. Again unusual and he's quite good and often has a smile for passers by even though he doesn't look well off. If they're allowed to play there (which given the number of police around I'd say they are) why not support them from time to time. I prefer to give food rather than money to beggers through when possible. I find it distressing if you give someone money for "food" and they walk straight into the shop behind them and come out with a packet of smokes instead. Better to support places like Vinnies, salvos or other charities that help those in need directly.

    Possibly American police are better but black people will have another opinion. And now with Trump politics is becoming very aggressive. I would not be surprised if protests escalate into police violent clashes as in the 1960s but worse because freedoms in America have been scaled back since 9-11 and surveillance increased. US citizens do not have the same rights they had 50 years ago. Who knows what an emotionally unstable Trump will do triggered by a headline or tweet that annoys him.

    You said NEVER give money to others ( I hope you end up homeless, I really do, it would teach you about reality) even though giving money to charities is as the authorities attempt to criminalize compassion is worse as these rich criminals go to balls ot show off while 90+% of donated money never gets to those needing the help (See Ricky Gervaise making fun of this on the Golden Globes). Of course there are disgusting gangs but there are those POOR INDIVIDUALS to who you could show some humanity but I would imagine such ideas are totally foreign to you.I am not all anti Trump but he is no more honest (see Trump University) than lying Hillary. A few years ago, when I was in a KFC in China with my father, we saw a little boy and a little girl, aged around 7, came in and begged for money from the customers there. What really impressed me was that my father gave the boy our chicken popcorn but refused to give any money. The children were probably trafficked here and forced to go out begging. They wouldn't get the money that they got, but they would have a chance to eat the chicken popcorn. I didn't know what happened to them later, whether they ate it or not, because we left after that, but I feel truly sad for these children - like the boy you talked about in the video, it's so unfair to them. They should've enjoyed their childhood and gotten an education.

I soon realized that there is a middle aged woman watching us from the other side of the street, dressed dirty and scrappy just like the young girl did. So I walked away a little distance and starting to watch their behavior. the woman walked to the girl and started talking to her, I wasn't sure whether they are mother and daughter or not. So I take pictures of them with my cellphone and when to the police standing nearby. Sadly the police won't do anything about it. Totally disappointed with our government.

    I think that a blazing fireplace with a throw rug and possibly a rocking chair would go well with story telling. It would also be nice to pan back at the end and see the beggar's head mounted on the wall with a plaque from the Chinese police thanking you for helping to keep the streets clean. Your story also gives some perspective when I think back on the older Chinese B movies where beggars played roles, and seeing how they were treated by local Chinese of the time. Some of Jackie Chan's old movies feature beggars who surprisingly turn out to be people of good character and awesome martial arts skills. Sadly those are just movies now.Even the best people have some scum. That Sasha went back with a thank you contribution speaks well of her and others like her.

    Welfare recipient, is pretty good in Denmark. Unemployment in both Denmark and East Europe is low. So why there were large gangs, of young healthy people from East Europe in Danish cities. Police-statistics showed, that they were beggars gangs. I am not quite sure, whether it extends to street performers (doubtful).

    Talking about religion I'm starting to interested in religion that has Karma concept and reincarnation because it makes sense in my logic. You punch people you will likely get a punch back. You give more and receive more. Why there are people who were born in rich/poor family, born with one leg, born in a war zone, etc. Action and reaction "karma" is an absolute law and it doesn't understand morals, doesn't care if you're an atheist, gay, black, white or hispanic person. Some are instant karma and some are not. It's like a boomerang. If you're a rude, aggresive person or follow aggresive teaching you'll more than likely to attract something similar. It's like a debt and saving game... When you have a good thing happened to you (some people call it luck) you're using one of your savings and when you're in a bad luck you're paying one of your debt. So, let's fill our saving account instead of creating more debt in other words let's do more something good rather than something bad because you (and all of us) are going to be responsible for all our action. Some people are just freaked out when it's their turn to pay for their action and will blame this and that.

  • @gurriato

    @gurriato

    7 жыл бұрын

    I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but karma is nothing but wishful thinking. A way to cope with the unfairness and injustice of the real world and an attempt to rationalize inequality (with the disgusting implication that people who get a bad lot in life, like having abusive parents, actually deserve it -- a concept more twisted than that of the original sin, which at least assigns blame equally). People who jump over themselves to point out when something bad happens to someone who 'deserves' it are as blind as those who believe it was their prayers which helped them out of a bad situation. It is nothing but illusory correlation and confirmation bias. Someone who wrongs others is just as likely to reincarnate as a cripple as he is to be thrown into a lake of fire. They are ideas that exist to discourage believers from taking justice into their own hands and favor social harmony.
