❤Domestic abuse woman here- it was refreshing that you all saw how it could relate to an abusive relationship- you picked up on some key lines that made it hit home for me- but it’s actually the second verse and only 6 months out of a 18 year marriage ti a narcissist that made this song become my gym song- my hype song on the way to my lawyers and whenever memories came crashing and needed to remind myself I am out and not the same- Two key phrases that I knew and I am not sure many others do- Thought you could Snap me like bamboo -bamboo is very weak and easily snapped when it’s young- vs how most people know it as the thick stalks panda chew on forever My ex for sure mentally and emotionally would try to break me and still does - it caught my ear right away since I worked in floral shop on high school And a jackboot- A jackboot is the military boot of an “oppressive “ leader or what we call now a dictator The bamboo and jackboot clinched this song for me as a favorite- and of course she talks about “been at work and has her badge of honor” Mine is woman’s group and the mental work and emotional purging that happens there and how strong I am now and year later and I wear that badge Not every reactor has seen that it could relate to others in different ways and loved how I into the track you got- Radom video on my feed- I am going to check out your channel tomorrow
