China Taking Over Gold Price

Is China the dominating force behind gold's rally in price? Some people think so, but the data being referenced is speculative. The whole story is probably more a case of a shift that's happening rather than something that already has.

Don’t forget not only does China buy alot of gold, but they are a gold producing country. They are quiet about their gold holdings, but the US may not have the gold they claim they have, it hasn’t been audited in decades.

I would say that correlation does not always mean causation. Especially when there are so many influences on the final result. It's likely China's buying habits of gold contribute to the price increases we see, but so do many other things. One thing I am sure of- inflation is rampant and destroying the middle class, and my best option for savings is gold.

Watched the video because of the headline but I am pleased that there is no hard evidence that China is trying to manipulate prices. At least beyond the fundamentals of continuing to buy when the price is low. Which leads me to my main point. I bought a bunch in Dec.-Feb. and made a couple of purchases in March. I will continue to increase my stack when there are short-term buying opportunities but I anticipate the price will rise to around 2500 USD by year-end, possibly higher. What I am most interested in, of course, is whether we will be in WW III by that time. Like the author, I am not planning to sell my gold long term, which is likely the same overall strategy of China. I am quite interested in the price variance, since it resembles what one sees at the blackjack table. In blackjack, the variance is amplified when you increase your bet because of the deck's positive count. This same sort of phenomenon could happen with countries buying large purchases at selected times and falling afoul of the variance. I don't count cards in blackjack and stick with basic strategy. Occasionally I will double or triple my bets but it is rare. For gold stacking, I think a basic strategy based on long-term goals is the best idea. It seems to be working for me.

Like you said it's hard to determine which factors currently influencing gold price behavior. It was pretty easy before DXY goes up, gold goes down and vice versa, until it isn't so easy anymore. Gold is pretty much ignoring DXY now. We can only look at available facts. 1) Eastern nations central banks been buying and continuing to buy gold. 2) Western gold ETFs have been seeing major outflows since last year. (normally, this would have a negative effect on the price of gold, but not anymore) 3) Eastern ETFs have been adding gold during same time period. 4) Drums of war are beating louder. 5) What is the endgame for China and those other nations accumulating gold. 6) Don't think gold strong price performance is due much to rumor of rate cuts, otherwise sticky inflation numbers would have pushed the price down in the meantime.

There's never been a time quite like this, where after more than a decade of declining faith in gold, people now view it as an essential asset for hedging, reflecting a significant shift in mentality. This change comes alongside growing doubts about the US dollar and treasuries, compounded by concerns over CBDCs. Historical patterns such as the decades-long cup and handle, triple top, all signal a historic moment to invest in gold. 🌟💰 This is just my personal viewpoint; please make sure to assess the risks on your own. ⚖📈

why spend that much money on an oz of gold knowing it costs roughly 1400$ to produce. a thousand dollars difference 2400$ seems too expensive. there are better investments out there

A question I have, which raises a point... If the Chinese were buying gold to protect themselves from being cut off by SWIFT etc. Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to buy Russian gold. And if they were buying Russian gold, that would be off market gold, meaning, it shouldn't put the price of spot gold up in the West. Or am I missing something?

it would still be high, as it is with OIL and Diamonds! He would put all that gold into a huge Vault and release slowly in the market to keep price high! Gold will be used for high tech spaceships and all electric industry replacing copper. Not to mention the huge cost to mine in Space, even if they use the strategy to bring gold nuggets on Earth using gravity!

I enjoy your conversations and everything but you know China is the largest producer of Gold and we know that they do hold all those treasury notes and we do know that well they're kind of sick of us being hedgemon everywhere so it's only logical that they're going to try to Corner the market on gold as best they can and it really doesn't matter anyway because just keep buying gold every week or every two weeks or whatever you buy and dollar cost averaging never stop.....
