China's MEGA Infrastructure - Hunan Province | S2, EP52

This video is about one of China's iconic infrastructure investments in the past years: the so-called Aizhai Bridge. The bridge spans a length of over 1.4km and is 300m above ground. It was an essential investment to connect the remote mountain villages to some high speed network and boost economic development.
I am also visiting Jidou village, a remote local mountain village near the bridge and close to Dehang Canyon.
Join me on the adventure through China's remote areas :)

@@thomasmuller9243 : Go and watch videos from "Katherine's Journey to the East". Katherine is an American that did her graduate work in Environmental Studies/Engineering in China and now works in (no surprise) environmental engineering work. Katherine has talked extensively in her videos about how China's rural areas used to put all of their sewage AND industrial waste directly into the nearest body of water. Needless to say Katherine talks about how the rivers and streams in China's rural areas were horrifically foul smelling....... kind along the lines of what present day india/South Asia and Southeast Asia is like. Katherine said that China implemented a vast urgent building of "micro sewage/septic systems across all rural areas across China starting in the early 2000s. Apparently the vast majority of China's rural bodies of water have been greatly cleaned up, though there are still areas to implement the rural sewage/septic systems in........ Nonetheless Katherine shows how cleaned up China rural waters have been as Katherine goes swimming in the waters (and if you watch enough of her videos you find Katherine loves swimming).

I also like to glide around in the game I play, in similar places to that one. Where I live we have a tiny mountain ridge, that reminds me of some places in China (I've only seen them in photos), ours were formed thousands of years ago, from volcanic eruptions, those look different! Ours, while much smaller, are also a tourist destination, but some people wander off and get lost, because it looks so easy to do and they can't be convinced otherwise. That place looks so much harsher, and yet it's been made safe for you to look around by yourself! Thank you so much for sharing :)

Those scenery are so gorgeous and you captured it all... so beautifully not to mention your drone piloting is just breath taking. Thank you for sharing Yan.

My favourites are when you visit the villages and markets and talk to local people. It is so fascinating to see how people live in and adapt to their environment. We could learn so much about how to live naturally before technology takes that ability away from us all over the world. No doubt the new roads and the bridge are very useful. But we have to begin asking at what cost? How anxious the bus driver looks compared to the village people.
