CHINA PART 5: FENGHUANG ANCIENT TOWN

This city is five times older than the U.S.!!! I didn’t know anything about this city because, like I wrote before, I’m a millennial with a camera and I’m just following the boys around…so I filmed our travels through this city and I hope whoever watches this enjoys it and maybe this video gives you a little more insight on this wonderful city…in case one day you plan to visit it, which I think you should! Again, Thanks for watching and as always, have a blessed day!

Yeah, it was a great view! So I think I had more content, but I’m pretty sure it was unusable due to my lack of videography skills. I’ll try better and on the next ones.

Wow, thank you! I’m honestly surprised by that because there were a lot of people there with pretty expensive gear (cameras mainly) and I expect some good quality with good gear (most of the time). Hopefully some really good videographers will make it out there and blow my video out of the water with their skill and editing!

it's amusing yet somewhat pitiable how you stumbled upon this post with your quaint understanding of Chinese culture and the charming town of Fenghuang. Allow me to enlighten you, as someone who has delved far deeper into the rich tapestry of Chinese heritage than your cursory Google search or brief visit could ever fathom. Fenghuang isn't merely a picturesque backdrop for your tourist selfies; it encapsulates centuries of history, from its Ming and Qing dynasty architecture to its symbolic significance in Chinese literature and folklore. You see, its ancient alleys and intricate wooden structures are not just quaint scenery but living remnants of a bygone era, where every brick tells a story and every street corner whispers tales of resilience and cultural dynamism. And as for Chinese culture, it's not just about the surface-level attractions you've hastily photographed. It's about understanding the nuanced philosophies of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism that underpin everyday life. It's about appreciating the artistry of calligraphy and painting, the elegance of traditional music and dance, and the subtle complexities of Chinese cuisine beyond your superficial admiration for dumplings and Peking duck. So, before you hastily dismiss my comment as condescending, perhaps take a moment to educate yourself beyond the confines of tour guide pamphlets and Instagram hashtags. Dive into the depths of Chinese history and philosophy, immerse yourself in its literature and art, and maybe then you'll begin to grasp the profound beauty and cultural richness of places like Fenghuang, instead of reducing them to mere vacation snapshots.
