What a beauty. Chinas most advanced fighter jet currently in PLAAF and most likely for another few decades to go. The scary part is that this jet is only going to keep getting better since china is still using many stopgap process like the engine which still has much room for improvement. China just started modernization not long ago and they can already fully produce domestic 5th gen fighter jet that can go toe to toe with USAs and worlds best.

@@adamo1242 they can and have. One of the high ranking generals have already said theyve been intercepted before but J20(vs F35) and he was impressed with their flying and everything else. F22 is retired basically already and they aren't making any more, and also not carrier capable so it's use would be limited in any fight in SCS etc. If they decide to base f22 in Japan or sk or wherever, they would be too vulnerable to saturation attacks of airports and military bases etc. It's why USA pulled all their stealth bombers back from Japan/SK to Guam. they know that they are just sitting ducks if an actual conflict happened vs China. China completely dominates both air and sea inside first island chain. The engine might have longer lifetime in terms of hours or whatever, but that won't affect anything in terms of going head to head or in an actual conflict between china and usa. USA still has tech advantage in terms of subs(again related to nuclear engines and noise), and has advantage in terms of nuclear carriers(again engines), but inside first island chain, again, I still think China dominates since it's their front door and chinas weaknesses are negated by their geography and strategies they will and are currently employing. Like say a fight over TW and in SCS, at most USA will be able to get the first shot off using surprise/stealth, and then after that their stealth is gone and they will get killed in return by the other thousands of anti sub assets next to the target you just destroyed. Tyranny of distance and home field advantage is just too much for usa to overcome vs a peer adversary which is even superior in many aspects(like having range advantage in missiles and standoff ranges, having carrier killed missiles sex etc . China has been single mindedly focused on developing a military and doctrine just to be able to defend itself, and for China this means countering and hopefully dominating USA in any potential conflict. USA has not done the same and is still wasting all its money on other stuff that wind sj anything in a war vs China. Like giving Ukraine 100 billion if building your army fo fight goat herders on land who basically only have AKs and RPGs and who you can bomb at will from the sky using old drones. China on the other hand has caught up and even overtaken usa in terms of drones and AI etc. When even usa military and Ukraine and Russia all use Chinese dji drones and they have 80%+ of civilian drone market too, it's for a very good reason. They are the best and cheapest. And these are just the civilian ones China allows to be exported. To even usa military. Imagine what countermeasures China already has or what drones their military has and is using.

Chinese shore based anti ship missiles would be shot down by AEGIS equipped US ships. not to mention the B-2s and the F-35s that could be in the sky over China before China could react. (for reference the radar cross section of the J-20 is about 0.3 square metres whereas the radar cross section of the B-2 is 0.1 square metres, the RCS of the F-35 is 0.0015 square metres in stealth config and that is what would be used in this context, and the RCS of the F-22 is 0.0001 square metres) so the entire J-20 fleet could be destroyed in the first few minutes of the war. and in the event of some of the J-20s getting airborne in time the f-22s providing CAP would down them before the J-20s even knew they where there, and if the J-20s managed to get close to a US carrier strike Group (of which there are 11) they would be downed by AEGIS equipped destroyers and cursers before they could shoot anything at them (and if they did it would be intercepted too) in the case of surface to surface warfare an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer can hold 96 missiles that can be anti air, anti ballistic missile or land attack types as well as CIWS systems to shoot down close range threats and rolling airframe missiles (RAM) to shoot down mid range threats. and then there is the "planes sitting on the ground are sitting ducks" which is true... if you don't think about it for more than about 30 seconds. the US uses land based surface to air systems to stop their assets getting hit, systems like the MIM-104 patriot for anti missile and anti air and THAAD for anti long range/intercontinental ballistic missile duties keeping the planes on the ground safe. in terms on numbers the US and China are fairly even on subs (their's just 8 more in the US) as YOU said the us has the tech advantage

Here's a rough summary of the accident history of the F-35 over the years: June 23, 2014: U.S. F-35A (engine fire, aircraft destroyed) September 23, 2016: U.S. F-35A (airframe fire, aircraft repaired and used as a training aid) October 27, 2016: U.S. F-35B (electrical fire, aircraft destroyed) September 28, 2018: U.S. F-35B (crashed) April 9, 2019: Japanese F-35A (crashed into the sea) May 19, 2020: U.S. F-35A (crashed) September 29, 2020: U.S. F-35B (crashed) November 17, 2021: British F-35B (crashed into the sea) January 5, 2022: South Korean F-35A (undercarriage failed to release, landed with belly scrape) January 24, 2022: U.S. F-35C (crashed into the sea) October 19, 2022: U.S. F-35A (crashed) December 2, 2022: U.S. F-35B (nose gear torn off, nose-dive) December 15, 2022: U.S. F-35B (front undercarriage collapsed during vertical landing, aircraft fell to the ground) September 17, 2023: U.S. F-35B (crashed and disappeared) I won't mention 2024, as there have been a bunch of accidents as well, you can summarize them too haha 😄😄.

Impressive engineering! Good thing China developed this technology itself without being sold classified information about American aircraft! Would be a real shame if this fantastic piece of hardware were to come across an f-22 and immediately fucking die! Good thing the f-22 shows up on the j-20's radar as more than a bumblebee moving at Mach 1.6 :D
