This needs more attention, these are EV's not Gas cars (see below) China keeps telling lies and no one ever calls them out, everyone just goes with it and keeps investing! (massive discount link): shop.ekster.com/serpentza In China, Green plates mean it's EV, regular gas cars have blue plates, and if you think you're seeing gas caps, you're wrong as many Chinese manufacturers use their ICE platforms to make EVs, for those of you who don't understand how Chinese EV Manufacturing works or are skeptical, here's a list of the vehicles shown in this video: ELECTRIC VEHICLES ; ================= 1) 0:02 - EV [Car: NETA V EV] -> bottom left of video, no front grill, looks like they have license plates (i.e. issued to buyers) 2) 0:12 - EV [Car: BYD E3 EV (Build Your Dream written on back)] -> green license plate (also look up a picture on BYD e2 wiki and you'll see BYD e3 pictures, BYD e3 picture shows GAS DOORS like a gas car, but it's an EV) 3) 3:08 - EV (most likely) -> no front grille (EV's don't need air to cool radiator), all license plated 4) 3:32/6:52 (Cao'an Hangzhou) - EV [Car: BJEV EC3 EV / BJEV EC180 EV] -> they also have green license plates 5) 5:19 (Xialaosha Hangzhou) - EV [Car: Kandi K11 Panda] -> has ad showing green related stuff on doors (it also has a gas cap like door on the left side even though it's an EV) 6) 5:34 (Dongjiangzui Hangzhou) - EV [Car: Kandi K11 / Kandi K10] -> has ad showing green related stuff on doors 7) 5:34/8:16 zoom up (Dongjiangzui Hangzhou) - EV [Car: K10C = Kandi K10] -> wiki excerpt of Kandi K10: "The electrical system of the K10 consists of a 20 kWh battery", NOTE: has a gas cap looking door on the right side in the zoom up picture 8) 5:52 (Xinlaosha Hangzhou) - EV [Car: Kandi K10/K11] -> all license plated 9) 6:44 (Cao'an Hangzhou) - EV [Car: BJEV EU5 EV] -> green license plate 10) 6:48 (Cao'an Hangzhou) - EV [Car: BJEV EC 180] -> note: video shows that this EV also has a gas tank door, but it's an EV 11) 6:50 - EV -> front grill not seen (gas car needs air to cool radiator), sticker on side of door says "electric car", another car in background has green license plate 12) 3:23 - green license plate - green plates given to new technology cars (could be hybrid) GAS CAR ======= 1) 6:17 (Yuhua- cars used for Didi (China's Uber) - these are gas (Net blue)

@@defendingthestrawman7103 it is not really the same: "Gigantic heaps, supposedly filled with unsold brand-new cars, rusting away by the thousands. Especially during the 2007 automotive crisis, several photos of vast car storage areas became a symbol of the industry's decline. The story quickly spread - yet it was nothing more than an urban legend! The fact that new cars are parked in large quantities at ports, test tracks, and other locations is not due to a crisis or overproduction, but solely because new vehicles need to be stored somewhere temporarily before being delivered or shipped."

It's not the same as letting batteries, steel, vinyl, and rubber rot in a field. We could do better about making sure food ends up in the hands of people who could eat it but what you speak about isn't nearly as aggregious as throwing away a bunch of brand new cars just to claim they have been sold.

Sounds a lot like western spun propaganda when not everything is compared properly against each other, which works best when mixed in with some actual facts (like the bikes and EVs). Recently; "China biggest carbon emission" when data from what I'd consider a far less biased statistical site shows US (and Canada, and Australia, and several others) ranking far higher if you account for "per capita". And in this one; it's only China doing something bad for mining or utilizing child/slave labor, when western corporations are *MORE* than happy to exploit this for as long as they can despite being fully aware of it. Yes I agree, China bad, China sucks, Communism sucks, blablabla... But so do we, and that is never reflected upon! Africa is headed for humanitarian catastrophes ahead, and it's our fault, *ALL* of us, not limited to China and their exploitative methods.

One note. It's most likely the batteries are LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) as they are the main battery of CATL and BYD, easy to mass produce and don't use the conflict minerals like NCA or other cobalt based chemistry. What's messed up is those batteries (god I hope they were stripped out before being parked) could be repacked into containers and literally power villages upon villages for more than 20 years. That is the main tragedy!

Great video. I've been to China a half dozen times on extended business trips where I had time to travel and sightsee, and every time I come back and tell my friends and family and co-workers the stories of the insanities that I've seen there, and people hardly believe me. Superhighways with no cars on them. Massive residential building complexes that would dwarf the burroughs of New York - rotting and unfinished and empty. Huge industrial complexes and warehouses - abandoned. The amount of money spent in China on unused and unfinished rotting infrastructure boggles the mind. You have to go there and see it to believe it. The bicycles and electric cars in this video are like a tiny pebble in a landfill compared to the other abandoned infrastructure. And despite what some in the comments are saying about it being privately owned - it's not true! The money shell game in China starts with the CCP, printing renminbi, loaning it out to party aligned "investors" who use the money to attract more investors, build a bunch of shit like this, skim profits along the way, then abandon it all. There's no system there for dealing with it. There's no timely or authoritative bankruptcy court to sell off the assets and recoup money for investors. The cars aren't sitting on land owned by a holding company that owns the land and vehicles, or that leases the land to store them. The assets literally belong to no one. The state is too corrupt and dysfunctional to acquire the assets and sell them off as we would do in the USA. The shell game is like sending crypto to a burn address: print money, loan it, acquire investors, spend the money on infrastructure (while skimming profits), then the infrastructure becomes 0x0000 and rots.

I lived in Shanghai in 2016 when the shared bicycle craze took off. As someone who is experienced in manufacturing and inventory control, I could see that this scheme would never work. Without even considering the absurdly low prices, the problem of inventory management and maintenance is massive. At IBM in San Jose, we would lose valuable stuff on our own campus! How much easier to lose bicycles across all of Shanghai or other Chinese cities. Within 5 seconds I could see that this scheme was doomed to failure and waste. Why couldn't the Chinese government see the most obvious thing?

Not that western companies are doing much better, but least there is some ways to get them be responsible if car goes up in flames. Good luck doing that with Chinese company. Taking these apart to sell the metals.. that has potential, just needs to be really careful and drain the system of power before taking it apart. Its really too bad you cant trust these things to serve your purposes cause i would love making my own vehicles from parts like these, but sadly laws around here make it really god damn difficult and expensive. EV was boasted as new environmentally friendly way of travel, but its not and governments are already throwing taxes on them now that there are more than few them around. Only ones that benefitted were the elite who got government subsidies to buy them in the first place and they would sell them in couple years for massive profit.

FUD and garbage. Tesla requires proof of humane mining. You don't mine cobalt. You mine copper )and at most 10% of cobalt with that). There are no "cobalt mines" (FUD with pictures of children mining "COBALT" where they really dig COLTAN 400$ dollars per kg! Merkins are too stupid to know the difference). Cobalt WAS and is still mainly used in making UNLEAD FUEL and cutting tools (they absolutely don't give a f. about minerals orginins). More than 50% of Tesla batteries (and rising) is LPF = no cobalt, no nickel (that is the one problematic mineral not cobalt!).

For sharing apps - I personally use them in germany and whenever I can I always prefer electric car as it's just so much better within city not just the fact that it rides more smooth but also gives 0 pollution to the cyclists around me and as cyclist my self I appreciate this fact. I get it in USA where distances are bigger electric cars make less sense but in Europe where population is rather dense they are just so much better. When I used to work for the cell phone companies. There wouldn’t often be days when we didn’t hit our sales targets. What managers would do, is ring out gophones and or just ring out SIM cards and sell it as a prepaid line. This way when we sent the numbers out at night we would at least have something to show for it. I’ve also seen and witnessed other forms of fraudulent sales practices, like making up names and flat out adding lines to peoples accounts without their consent. This toxic and dishonest culture is still very prevalent in that industry. There’s tons and tons of sales fraud that goes on likely til this day. All in the name of hitting unreasonably high sales numbers that help the upper management sleep at night knowing they did their job at pretending their company is better than it is and so that investors keep buying more shares. So many issues in these times are traced back to greed Seems to me that China today is the very embodiment of that example

Some of the cars in that field of Kandis (the ones with the shield logo) are quite old. The k10c is based off of the smart car knockoff made by the Huoyon Electrombile Corp, which started production around 2006-2008. They were built using chasis made for kids toys not able to go over 10mph and used fiberglass bodies built by scaling up an imported model of a first generation smart car. Basically, if you got in any kind of accident you were screwed. They actually sold some here under the Kandi, Flybo, and Wildfire brands, but thank God they were speed limited to 25mph. Because of their age and cheap production they used lead acid batteries, which while more recyclable and less combustible than Li-ion, which is used in New EVs, it is my understanding that lead acid is more detrimental to the environment if not dealt with properly. Also, you recall how I said they sold some here? That ultimately never panned out because the cars were total crap, and now there are some lots here in America full of abandoned Chinese EVs.

How many times have you gone to the store and saw things on a "clearance" rack for 50% off? It's not like there wouldn't be a market for these bikes and cars. They should let TEMU sell this stuff on the internet and take a cut of that.

I don’t dare pay someone to dispose of them because they may just dump them in a ditch. In the old days people would change their oil and just dump old oil in a hole. Probably what is done in 3rd world countries then we in developed world would have to supply these people with clean drinking water and medical help because the population polluted their land causing sickness.

@@BatMan-oe2gh That's not subsidising, it's called tax reduction. You know that fossil fuels are heavily taxed, right? Even if the consumer get tax reduction, the producer of the fuel doesn't get any subsidise: they still have to bear their own cost for producing and delivering the fuel. Now compare this with for example the electric wind power industry that doesn't have to bear its own cost and gets direct subsidising to produce the electricity. That's the difference.

If people even try to tel me (as someone who sorts my trash, recycling since I was a child) that I’m not doing enough for the environment, I will show them this video and ask them how much more do I have to do living a modest and respectful life to offset a country that does this? The fact of the matter is, we can’t. It’s going to go to a place of no return because we aren’t holding them responsible. Add on all the unsustainable mining for their cheap “crystals” that sell on tiktok, bikes left in mountains, and pollution emissions from their factories… it’s going to get to a point of no return before we know it.

They constantly make demands for their home countries in the West to make sacrifices for their cause, with their primary target being regular people just trying to make their regular commutes. Even if such mass scale changes were made in the west, the net effect and benefit would be miniscule. But when it comes to nations like China, where this sort of pollution is off the charts? Most of these Cars are actually older cars (between five and ten years old) and they were once used for ride sharing. The cars have signs of obvious wear and tear, including trash inside. Some of the cars are even totaled. Why lie about this?
