China: Carmakers Implicated in Uyghur Forced Labor
Global carmakers, including General Motors, Tesla, BYD, Toyota, and Volkswagen, are failing to minimize the risk of Uyghur forced labor being used in their aluminum supply chains, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today.
The 99-page report, “Asleep at the Wheel: Car Companies’ Complicity in Forced Labor in China,” finds that some carmakers have succumbed to Chinese government pressure to apply weaker human rights and responsible sourcing standards at their Chinese joint ventures than in their global operations, increasing the risk of exposure to forced labor in Xinjiang. Most have done too little to map their aluminum supply chains and identify links to forced labor.

theyre probably paid by the chinese goverment to use them as propaganda, i know many uyghurs who cant leave xinjiang and that their passports have been confiscated, a friends of mines multiple uncles have been prisoned there, only his father was able to escape

Trust me, if you go work in China you will be paid a LOT. Also, you will have freedoms and good prices on everything. It is also the safest place in the world. I lived there as an academic for over 6 years and it was fantastic.

Forced labor is when providing jobs for poverty alleviation. Arbitrary detention is when educating and they get to go home after. We get to decide how your country is run, what value system you have while we are inept and hypocritical.

'sentenced to death'? it said 'suspended death sentence'. A suspended death sentence in China gives the accused a two-year reprieve from being executed, after which it is automatically converted to life imprisonment.
