It used to be that, we didn't want military bases here anymore because we're simply tired of foreign interference including US espionage. Unfortunately, as soon as US left the region and focused on SoKor and Japan only, China was quick to fill the vacuum and built military bases in the region with airstrips and missiles to forcefully claim the entire sea for themselves since no superpower was gonna keep them accountable. The CCP in some way shot their own foot by giving Philippines and other countries a reason to bring back US military bases once again.

I think it's important that the *Philippines* focus on prioritizing the development of more uplifting fairytales.
