Agree. Salute from Colombia. Africa, Latin America, Asian must stand united and chart a new path. The “western” imperial and neo-imperial models are blatant in their exploitation and hunger for power. Neoliberalism seeks to keep these regions in debt and bondage, as it seeks to deal with corrupt puppet leaders. The people must say ENOUGH. The US, France, England, Germany… are NOT needed for success in Africa and elsewhere. Invest in yourself and leaders like Chimamanda.

It make me feel that we, the former “Third World” countries from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the Caribbean, the Pacific Islands and many other peoples, have a comun purpose and a comun enemy... That enemy is not the colonial past, and the crimes of the Western Europeans, but their present blindness to see the consecuences of their crimes... Also, I can see how all that is quickly changing, thanks to a new emerging solidarity among the former oppresed people... Cheers, African and Asian brothers!...

You can read the world world to understand how anyone, african included, committed atrocities against his own people and others, still the only thing you seem remember is how SOME europeans countries behave 400 years ago, and, as a perfect RACIST, use that to accuse an entire continent. Well, your african pals in the north have raided European coasts for centuries, to sack an to collect SLAVES; so, as far as I'm concerned, ALL AFRICANS ARE RACIST AND SLAVIST. And, north aside, you surely know that europeans bought slaves FROM BLACK AFRICANS, because certainly portugueses or english did not get in the jungle catching people, the dirty work has always been done by BLACK AFRICANS who sold their own people to make money. If you didn't know it, then ask yourself WHY you didn't. I suppose that you've been taught propaganda and false representations of your own history. Bun no-one can stop you to inform about it, it's never too late. In my experience if you take an educated African and compare him or her to the same person of equal education from the West, you will see that the African stands out by a mile. Believe me I know. So then what is the issue? The issue we have to stop thinking the west knows better and start pushing our own brands and our own history. There is still this self hatred we have and that we have become like moths, always fleeing to light as if the light. We are uncomfortable with our own blackness, culture, and heritage. Right we should continue to make sure that we don't allow ourselves to become victims to what happened in the past but at the same time what really holds back africa and it's people is that they continue to live thinking that they will get something from the past and that is not the case. We need to understand that times have changed and that we need to take accountability of the fact that we can't control the past and the many things happened. All we can continue continue do is come together unite, acknowledge and forgive. We all have nothing to do and we do not represent those from the past. If africa needs to move forward they can't continue to be stuck with the mentality and the behavior that they must get something from the past. We don't need reparations. Europe owes africa Nothing. If africa wants to get that they going to have to come together in unity, liberate themselves and work for what they want. Times have changed. We can't continue to demand from the past. All we can do is acknowledge and move on. Even though blacks sold blacks into slavery by selling them into the hands of white people and that as of today I am a descendant of the many black who went through the cruelty they went through as slaves I can't control what happened to them and for the people whi had done them bad. I once held a grudge against white people for the things their ancestors have done in the past but I've changed because I realized that today I live in a different world.
