Misleading title. Faye is keeping dialogue and opportunities open so we dont see more division amongst neighbours. Ibrahim Traore is the symbol of a reemerging independent Africa. Thomas Sankara said you cannot kill ideas and thats what we are witnessing right now. Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali ...we are supporting this direction. Times have changed. We are proud of you. On the other hand... We have to be careful not to fall for simple optics and rhetoric only. I dont care how Faye dresses as a president as long as his policies and actions are in line with progress for the senegalese citizen and it's neighbouring countries. Many of us are easily impressed by revolutionary optics and militaristic rhetoric without knowledge about real facts and realities within states and state relations (Economic data etc). A wise statesman cannot base his actions on emotions or what is trending in that moment. This is one key explanation for the chinese sucess story of the last 5/6 decades. You set longterm goals and follow through no matter what. Political hygiene (no corruption) and some minimum base level of panafrican unity is necessary to achieve longterm independence. Ecowas and the other integrating regional institutions can be used for this purpose if they actually act independently from non african players. So basically you have to kick puppets like Tinubu, Nana Addo etc. out in order to further cleanse the region from western interference and exploitation. It takes time to achieve long lasting goals. Revolutionary anticolonial development is not just about rhetoric and red berets. It's about ideas and actual policies that show the truth. Let's see what Faye is about and can do as a young president of a country that still is deeply tied to the former colonial master. It's not easy. I think he has to move much more careful. We will see. Dropping the CFA is inevitable. In general... Focusing on single persons/leaders is dangerous because once they are not here anymore everything collapses. Let us follow Sankara's prophetic words and focus on real actions and ideas for the future. Africa will be independent and self sufficient soon🌍🌄
