Rob if I was playing it on a 7 string what would I tune it to to play this cause I know with this album you went back to six string after the last album

@@johnkayreactions6963 Hmm... I guess I would tune strings 1 thru 6 to Drop C, and then just not use the 7th string. But that would be uncomfortable in my opinion. Sometimes though, you've just got to do what you've got to do.

Impossibility of Reason is such a standout album. No fillers and the playing, on all aspects, holds strong still to today. Whether the so called experts in the media agree or not this album is one of the best metal albums of all time! Also love that you do these lessons. Long live Chimaira!! To me, Impossibility THROUGH Infection have no fillers whatsoever. I never skip a single song on those 4 albums. It’s hard to name another band (besides the obvious choice of Metallica) that I can say that for.

That compilation was so good

I love this song. I remember hearing that little harmonized lead in the beginning with the keyboard part before it jumps in so heavy. It stuck with me, and I still try to emulate it whether it’s in an intro, or during a softer verse.

i don't even have a clue how many times i played this song. That pick slides into the opening riff after the intro always pumps me up!!!!!!! I love this god damn riff

Down Again was the first song I heard from Chimaira.Since then I became a huge fan.AMAZING BAND!!!!

Greetings from Pakistan, Rob! I just stumbled upon your channel accidentally yesterday. Chimaira, Metallica, Cannibal Corpse, and Six Feet Under got me into extreme metal. I can't even count how many times I jammed to this track. First heard it on MTV's Headbangers Ball, which aired at 4 am here. I'd set my alarm just so I wouldn't miss it. Even to this day, the guitar tone you used on the 2003 album "impossibility of reason" is still my favourite guitar tone on a metal album. I still own the original album and i love playing it on my workouts.

This brings back memories, as it was the first chimaira song I Ever learned. Also apparently props to the guy who made the tabs 15 years ago, as they were pretty accurate.

When you fellas had heroes, and looked up to bands when you were young players, I don’t know if you imagined that you would be that for others. Many a metal head agree. 🤘🏼

down again is killer. i always liked when mark utilized his whispers, clean vox, etc...such good times in my early 20s with all these bands, especially chimaira. My friend rob, incidentally had the this present darkness record on him at a roof keg party one time and hes like..you gotta hear this shit..history after that. with the state of the world and every band and their mother doing reunions, im still hopeful we will see chimaira in the future again!

What an album. Had my original ipod,with my long hair and headphones in all day. I used to put stuff on my friends ipod and he wasnt really into metal,more like sublime and chill stuff but he had a real special love for implements of destruction. He used to mouth out the beggining flamenco-italianoesque lead, we'd be stoned out of our minds at 8am for first period just laughing. Wake n bake...ah I miss those days.i have a bunch if cassettes and one if these days I'm gunna go through em and I'll link you to our atrocious cover of dehumanizing process.it was pretty bad but the feel was there

Yeah, finally one of my the most favorite Chimaira songs, which I learned one of the first! The main riff works very well for developing technique of both hands, I still play it intuitively when I warm up! And it's pretty cool to see you playing Chimaira stuff not on your signature guitars! This black Horizon with white binding, Evertone bridge and standart averse inline headstock looks amazing! P.S. To be honest, Rob, I have never understand this obsession with reversed inline headstocks in metal community - it has already become something traditional. But I love the standard averse inline headstocks, I don't want them to disappear altogether because of this. So, it's good too see you playing one. But wait! I have never seen Dave Mustaine, Andreas Kisser, Max Cavalera and Alexi Laiho (R.I.P.) play guitars with reversed inline headstocks - all inline headstocks on their guitars is aversed! It inspires hope!

This was my first time hearing Chimaira. The song was on the MTV headbangers ball compilation album. It almost instantly became my favorite song on that compilation. Right on bro! As for the ltd MH-1000 ET in this video, I have not done a video on it. I don't love the guitar, but I do like the Evertune. But I consider it a special tool that I only grab for certain situations. At times it's a life saver. But I don't think I'd make it my main. Perhaps it's the guitar though. Like, if I had a guitar with an ET that I really loved, perhaps I'd reach for it more often. But in the end, I'll always be a Floyd guy through and through!🎸

Resurrection was the first record where Mark and I weren't present for the entire mixing process. So things happened that we're weren't totally aware of, including the final guitar sound. I don't dislike it or anything, but I can't fully explain the formula used to create the final product. I'll look into doing a Quick Riffs or two from that album!🤘

Hey rob! Not sure if it’s something you’d be comfortable covering in a video. But I’ve always been interested in the finance of a band. How did it work in Chimaira keeping everyone in the band and crew happy with money etc. Was it hard to please everyone? Feel that money causes a lot of issues within friends at time so always wondered what the best / fair way to deal with it. Also no worries if you don’t want to cover this or go into things too personal.

We, like many bands, struggled in this area too. And I think that's because there is no play book. There are no rules. Every band, artist, situation, is different. For a long time we (the band) split everything equally, because we were all brothers, striving towards the same goal. Over the years, that system began to evolve, which in turn helped lead to our untimely demise.

Idk if this was what you were aiming for but you can't tell me the vocals in the chorus weren't alice in chains inspired if not just a happy coincidence. Either way it definitely adds the flavor to the song i think lol
