@RobArnoldWorld i cannot stress it enough, but your self titled album is what kept me from falling deeper into depression and kept me from suicide. That album alone was on a loop for days on end from 2015 to 2017... thanks to Chimaira and Megadeth, i am still here. Killer song and perfect album!

"Deep album cut", but most definitely one of, if not, the best song on the album. This is incredible! Thanks, Rob!! I'll be jamming these riffs.

Been waiting for this video forever! One of my favorite Chimaira songs, it has one of the best "under chorus" riffs I've ever heard. To use your expression, it's sassy 😂

Rob is all chill about the solo, it will be fun he says with a big old smile. Lol looking all baked.

Bloodlust is my most played song from the self-titled, it was on repeat some days. I'm surprised that I was playing it mostly right from just jamming trying to figure it out on my Squire Strat after school back ten+ years ago. Couple of cool details I missed like Matt's harmony. I really appreciate the effort! a video like this must take a chunk of time to make. Many thanks Rob!

I started listening to Chimaria when Mark Hunter sang on the road Runner United album and got all the albums between the Impossibility of Reason to the Age of Hell, but some how skipped over this album. It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I finally listened to the whole album and this song quickly became one of my favorite Chimaira songs.

Simply amazing. This track is one of my favourites from that album. Thank you rob!

Dude, excellent video! I like the chats on how you form songs and perfecting the sound. It's one thing to just follow along with tabs but having a visual is a big help. Listening to a recent No Fn Regrets with Alex Taylor and he mentioned how influential Chimaira was to him. Rob was saying "Chimaira doesn't even know how influential they were". Damn man, I hope you guys realize just how next level you were for Thrash in the 2000's. Not many bands top the list and that's not the first time Rob has said it.

I remember playing catch up with new releases after my first deployment in ‘05 and got this, Opeth - Ghost Reveries, and Cold - A Different Kind of Pain. All great and wildly different records, still absolutely love the riffs on the self titled record especially the nasty one played twice in Nothing Remains before the first and second verses

One thing I’ve appreciated learning more full songs than just shredding all the time is that tight right hand or left. It doesn’t happen overnight and is definitely overlooked when compared to sweep picking etc. Sorry for rant but I prefer a good rhythm guitarist over solos any day.

I remembered the first song I heard off this I was a little underwhelmed.i remember the moment hearing it and most certain it was myspace. After impossibility of reason I was I guess thinking it would be something different. it was 'save ourselves' and at the 25 second mark that bird squeals " hreeee!! Reeee..." And I was instantly let down cuz the drums didn't do the half time swing instead it was the pretty standard thrash andold best ( which I grew to appreciate,but there was quite a few spots I thought andold should have omitted that for something groovier mostly on pass out, as I knew he was way more than capable of something groovy and interesting) but I knew andols wasn't on the record. And I just remember thinking oh,I thought this was Gunnar be more brutal. But I grew to love it as I did the whole album.absokutely brilliant. Even if you guys don't tour,I'm hopeful you guys can just record an album. I know decisions were made based on emotion back in the day that are prob not to your liking so to speak now,but I hope a resolution can be made one day. I really hate how this iconicand quite important band ended.its one of the worst ways the band could've dissolved. The story isn't over,it needs a redemption and my hopes were high before COVID/at the start, but now with you doing KZread and mark doing twitch,it seems more success and normalcy is being had there, making the possibility seem to be dwindling. And with band members being strewn about location wise, it's never been easier to record an album, but let's face it, you know and I know, being in a band that's any good comes down to chemistry and in person jamming. It just doesn't seem like it'll happen which really gets me. Anyway cheers Rob you and chimaira are still the best and mean alot to alot of ppl

Just getting round to this and I can't wait to get stuck into this one!

A lot of Dimeisms in this song. The solo is half Kirk half Dime. IIRC he pioneered that trick in where you dip the bar, hit a harmonic and make it fly high. He did it in "Cemetery Gates" and "Fucking Hostile". It appears that this is done here as well? Lots of neat stuff in this song. One of your best solos too. And the good ol "sick riff under the solo" which really is a Chimaira signature.
