I love Australia 🇦🇺 for other reasons, but the birds are a nice bonus. I’ve fallen in love with the frilled lizards recently, too.

The hovering was interesting at the start of the video, it is not often you see birds hover (at least in the UK, perhaps a bird of prey only).

so about 2 mth. ago, when I was filming the morning feeding of my magpie friends, 1 of the magpie keep poking the bottom of my sneaker. I was sitting down crossing my leg, and he keep poking it, what do you think it means? I can't film it, as my lens is 70 to 200mm L lens from Canon, so I can't zoom out to such close distance

@@BackyardBirdsofAustralia hihi, I have a new question, in the past 4 days, there is a magpie that sits at 1 spot in my backyard for 20+ min., and then switch to another spot for another 20+ min., I have post a few video at my chnl. But on the 1st and 4th day, I notice he's sleeping after 5 pm at those former wooden garbage bin area in neighbors and under my front deck tonight Have you seen this before? that a magpie sit at 1 spot not moving and sleep on his own instead of w/ their magpie friends in the woods?

Unbelievable it is winter here in Europe

I have a wooden house that is 20 X 55 feet on a block of land 30 X 90 feet about 6 miles from the city of Melbourne. It is worth 1.4 Million. Does that help? (p.s. the Government doesn't make it easy for you 'pesky furriners' to buy here) 😊
