Chill Thoughts: Jonsbo C6

Sorry this is so late. I had a death in the family, which was expected, but I've just been feeling a little empty since then. Also, I had to cut a part out that had some bad information in it, so it might seem a little weird. I didn't want Gamers Nexus to come after me.

Loved the vid man. Simple and clean, with plenty of good asterisks haha

I decided to go ahead & try out the C6 as it is currently on sale in the USA for $50, using an ITX motherboard & SFF PSU. Also ordered the Silverstone PP08 ATX to SFX PSU adapter even though my EVGA SFX PSU comes with an adapter, the Silverstone adapter (for $12) provides an additional 5mm of cooler height space moving the PSU closer to the side panel along with adding 3 rows of small vent holes on the adapter. With this adapter and an SFX PSU using the Noctua L9x65 cooler with the A9 25mm fan at 76mm in total height leaves approximately 20-25mm of space for air intake between the fan top and the PSU. HOWEVER, all was for naught, as the motherboard standoffs were approximately 1.5mm too close to the rear panel, and my Aorus B550 ITX motherboard could no be installed. Possibly a motherboard with a separate IO cover plate would fit in this particular unit. So the case was returned. I did like the overall quality of the panels and found them to be sturdier than I expected. I had intended to mount dual 140mm fans bottom to top for airflow. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but oh well.

i also wondered if using an ITX motherboard and ITX length graphics card in this case - if an SFX power supply could be mounted in the bottom of the case allowing for taller CPU coolers.

Most of the reviews of this case would use a stock cooler. I'm interested in this case and want to pick something like id cooling is-55 but will replace it with a 25mm thick fan, but I am also interested to know how much is the height for max cpu cooler if I use sfx psu, so I will use something like 67mm height cooler but will replace the fan with 25mm thick if it possible...

atx psu allows 75mm cooler in this case. sfx allows smth like 85.

just curious if this case includes a mounting kit for SFX (non-L) and the backward "hole" seems like ATX size

Looked hard at this case for an ITX motherboard build with SFX PSU as my longest GPU is only 202mm. Would have used a 25mm thick bottom intake fan. Decided I did not want another case with PSU partly blocking the CPU cooler. As to comments I dislike, as a SFF only builder who only uses SFX PSU's telling me I can fit an ATX power supply - ah no.

A system with only a 5600G inside would probably run much cooler than the one I built, if you're still adding fans.

Between the Jonsbo C6 and SAMA IM01 which one would you consider has better air flow? Asking as I'm considering the C6 if I end up building another PC from spare parts when I upgrade my main one which already uses the IM01. For context the Jonsbo C6 is about $60 USD in my area while the SAMA IM01 (under the Tecware Fusion name) is about $51 USD.

@@ChillBuilds Thank you for that quick reply. Since my current IM01 is in black I would probably go for white for a second one for a change since I've never owned a white case before. I already have some parts (SFX psu, ssd, and heatsink) and would be slowly handing parts down from my main PC as I upgrade it.

@@abunk8691 I would take a look at the pro model too. It's a little bigger, but significantly better for ventilation. I finally got the c6 ( still using it actually ) to be somewhat quiet by undervolting the cpu, power limiting it to the 65w eco mode profile, and replacing all the fans with noctua with custom tuning. It still runs a little warm, but well within safe limits and fairly quiet. With the im01, you can actually fit a decent sized air cooler, which will do a lot for noise, along with several more locations for fans.

@@ChillBuilds The IM01 Pro is sadly not available in my area. Thanks for the undervolting tip, since my parts of the world tends to be around 30C typically I already do that with my Ryzen 5 2600 to keep it below 70C under load with a 120mm fan heatsink.

@@ChillBuilds I didn't realize something when I made my last reply. The IM01 Pro is rebranded as the Tecware Fusion 2 in my region but its the all mesh, no bulge, and no extension bay. Still got that terrible power extension cord that hangs out the back though. All while being about $75 USD, so probably wouldn't get it.

i just bought this case prior to seeing your build vid. for me its for a 10 year old kid and i have the option of using an older i5 6500 for now and getting an entry level GPU or buying a cheaper AM4 MB/CPU and maybe a mid level radeon....bit worried about the cooling as i did build a 4L Ryzen build that had the same issue and had to use the Ecomode.

I don't even hesitate to put a CPU in eco mode under a giant heatsink, so we're in different worlds here. Just remember to put the PC in a public place and keep track of the time they spend on it!

@@ChillBuilds with that top fan, and depending on what size GPU you put in it, could you slide that top fan all the way to the front and position a 120mm AIO under it? guessing it would need to be pushed that extra bit to the side to get more clearance from the RAM?

I kind of do too. An amazing midrange low-power CPU, a 4060 ti 16gb (if the price ever gets good), 32-64gb ram, 2x large 3.5" SSDs, 2x NVME SSDs, a SATA SSD (for linux or games) and a capture card would be a super dense system that does about everything I normally do, Would love that.
