Puedes hacer uno facilmente! El pan largo (idealmente calentado para que sea crujiente), la salchicha que estimes mejor (hervida), preparas la palta (aguacate), picas el tomate en cubitos, quizá un poco de mayonesa y listo! Eso es lo tipico, pero puedes usar otros ingredientes para variar. A mi me gusta colocarle salsa de aji, queda letal

When I first bought a hot dog in the States, I thought it was a joke, I thought I got tricked lol I guess it’s just a different palate. I’ve been living here for about 12 years and I still don’t understand why the breakfast is so sweet! Maybe you can make a video about that :)! I’m an Aussie (born and bread) with a Chilean background (my parents migrated from Chile in 1975). Over here, we have our full completos with the ketchup and mustard on top, or even (homemade) pebre. Although I don’t like sauerkraut, so I really have Italianos, but still, it’s always with sauce!

El mejor “completo” es el que preparas en casa. Con la salchicha de la calidad que tu escojas y sobretodo con los ingredientes que tu desees! Puede ser cn lo que quieras!: tomate, palta, pedacitos de aceituna, chukrut, americana(pickle picado), pepinillos dulces picados, salsa verde (meclade cebilla y cilantro picado), queso derretido, mostaza, ketchup, mayonesa, etc etc! O en vez de salchicha usar carne (en ese caso se llamaría as). Hay para todos los gustos. Pero siempre acompañado de una buena cerveza artesanal 😍

I’m a chilean who lived in the usa since I was 5 years old. Never knew about chilean completos until I went to chile for the first time when I was 13. Boy do I miss the completos😭 I make them at home but the bun isn’t the same here in the usa.

For real? To me the bun is my least favorite part of a completo, many times it's just more 🍞 than actual stuff in them where in the states your bread is just there to hold the stuff. Try baguette 🥖 kinda like a banmi completo.

I use french sandwich rolls (Francisco International, they have it at Target and Walmart) of course is not the same but pretty closed (put them in the oven for couple minutes) My kids love completos so I had to find a way to make like in Chile.

i love watching your videos. this was definitely a change for me and my 2nd trip to Chile I made a regular hotdog for my husband. I still can never get used to mayo on a hot dog but i love the completo sin mayonesa. the italiano one is yummy. Can't wait to visit next month. My favorite is the one called “dinámico” which has the sausage, mayo, tomato and “salsa americana” (American sauce) that is made of mashed cucumber, carrot and sauce marinated in vinegar. So good and watching at this video it made me feel like having a “completo” too. 😋

My husband fell in love with the completos. Unfortunately, here in the States the bread is different, but we try to make our hot dogs like they do in Chile.

I am a Chilean living in Australia. Perhaps the best I have experienced in terms of sharing these "treats" among friends from all over the world was joining the 9 years old bday of a very good Sri Lankan friend's daughter a couple of years ago. Guess the menu: Italianos!!! She had tried them at my home and fell in love with the combination of flavours. From that day on they prepare them regularly :)

Hey, this channel got recommended to me and it brought back so many memories. My parents are from Chile and I lived there during 5th grade and I used to visit my relatives there every year for two weeks during the summer. I absolutely love the commentary it’s making me miss Chile. This rocks

I enjoyed so much with your video. You know one of my son in law, who is American and lives in Virginia, when he went to Chile he tried the " completo" and since then he only eats completes here in USA, never again just the typical American ( fome ) hot dog. Thank you for the video !! Bacan !!🙊

I’m from Chile but I live in USA you’re right the hot dog is “fome” the only way that I have to enjoy a good “italiano” is to made it at home.

I'm living in England and I'm a chef, so wherever I been around the work the completos "italianos" were with me. 👍

My favourite is with sauer kraut, mayonaise, palta, tomatoes, onions, ketchup and mustard.

Jon, te recomendaría ir al "Oriente", un negocio especializado en completos. Queda en el centro de La Serena, Coquimbo, un par de horas más al norte de Santiago. Son los mejores completos de Chile, te lo aseguro :D

Seria bueno probar esos, para muchos viñamarinos los mejores completos son los del Cevasco lejos mejores que cualquier otro jajaja

Me encanta tu channel! I'm a Chilean living in Las Vegas for 29 years now. How I miss a good big ass completo ! When I first tried a good ol' merican hot dog I was so disappointed it sucked so bad. And anything sweet here in the states it's so freaking sweet!. Still after all this time can not drink sweet iced tea or a regular coke. But I'll tell you what you can't find in Chile ...a nice big juicy delicious carne asada burrrrito omg ....so good. Cheers from Sin City! Great videos keep up the good work man

Hola,desde Stgo. Te cuento que el "completo" reemplaza cualquier comida,lo rellenas con lo que quieras, la cosa es disfrutarlo no pensar en calorias!!!

If you ever go to Talca, you can eat soggy completos as they steam the bun in a pan before making the completo. People there love it!

Completo is "complete": with all the stuff. Diced tomato, chucrut, avocado, home made mayonaise and even ketchup and or mustard Italiano is the Italian flag: mayonaise (white), avocado (green) and red (ketchup).

Tenia entendido q es al reves,dinamico con chucrut.como siempre el chileno no tiene un orden,al final quien sabe quien esta bien o quien mal.

Man, sorry but it’s wrong, here it goes: Completo: tomate, chucrut, american sauce and mayo (btw i don’t know why it is called amarican sauce). Italiano: tomate, avocado and mayo. Dinamico: tomate, palta, chucrut, American sauce and Mayo. Also you can add ketchup, mustard, Mexican Relish (wich is known as salsa verde here in Chile) and almost anything else. You should try the Churrasco Chacarero it’s a sandwich made of meat (of course), tomatoes, green beans, Chilean green pepper (very soft not so hot I recommend) and Mayo... it’s gonna blow your head.

Esa diferencia entre dinámico y completo al parecer la hacen sólo en Santiago y la diferencia está en la palta... El completo lo hacen sin palta, sería: tomate, americana y/o chucrut, mayo; el dinámico es con todo.

En la quinta región el completo es con palta y sin palta no tiene nombre...

The difference between the "completos" and "Italianos" is the avocado. However, this is just difference made by restaurants because avocado is more expensive. I would say in most of Chileans homes, we called them "completos" independently the ingredients used.

el italiano es más un apellido que un nombre, onda se llama Completo Italiano y bueno, como al chileno le gusta acortar palabras, la mayoría le dice italiano xd

Solo en Santiago. En la Quinta Región el completo es con chucrut y el italiano sin el. Siempre siempre con palta y tomate.

Cuando fui a chicago, me fije que tenían variedades de hotdog con salsas que llevaban cebollas y cosas así, no muy fan la verdad, pero quise probar porque hotdog solo, como bien dices, me parecía fome. Mi honesta opinión, prefiero los completos chilenos, pero no porque sean malos allá, sino que es como diferentes comidas simplemente, el completo tiene una combinación de sabores perfecta. Preferiría otra comida en lugar de hotdogs. No fue decepcionante porque si sabia que no encontraría completos, pero esperaba un poco mas de sabor al menos jajajaja Pero así como los superamos en "hotdogs", chicago al menos nos supera en pizza, en chile nunca he conocido una pizza tan rica y sabrosa como la de chicago T-T

I love completos with sauerkraut! Something funny is that in Santiago completos are something a bit different than in the rest of Chile (without avocado, just tomato and sauerkraut, because they’re weird people like that.) I love the true completo. When I went to NYC trying hot dogs was nowhere in my list, I had so much other amazing foods, and I remember pizza very fondly. There’s nothing like NYC pizza. Burgers were great too, but pizza was something else.

Completos are my absolute favorites. Mine are minus the sauerkraut as well.I do put some lime juice and salt in the avocado spread.

The other way around my dude. The Italian completo is the one with mayo, avocado and tomato as per the colors of the Italian flag, red, white and green. The completo or, translated the "complete", is the one with sauerkraut as meant like this is the complete package. I believe the complete one was made first and the italian variant arose and became even more popular due to a lot of people not liking the sauerkraut, so you're not alone there. Way back when, people used to ask it as: "give me the complete hot dog (perro caliente completo)" as to ask it with everything. Which eventually just got shortened to: "give me the complete (completo)".

Esa es la estupidez que hacen los locales santiaguinos, no puede llamarse "completo" si no está completo!!!

Lo que mas he extrañado en esta cuarentena es el completo italiano del Cevasco en Viña del Mar. Obviamente acompañado con su respectiva cerveza.
