What's great about Jon's The Chef Show is that he is very clearly learning. He knows a lot...but he wants to learn more and it's honestly one of my favorite comfort shows. I could watch Jon cook with his friends all day long. It makes him super attractive.

Not surprised. Did you know the Irish court determined that Subway’s bread isn’t bread because it fails to meet the legal definition of bread due to it’s high sugar content? I wouldn’t be surprised if the same could be said about the typical, plain white bread in the US too. A lot of bread in the US is too sweet (unless you get the fancy artisan loaves).

@Park ChimMin I had no idea. I recently visited Ireland for a Holiday and I also love the bread you make. I think you guys use Soda? (I might be wrong witht the name 😅). But I was very impressed coz I found it very tasty. It goes really well with Irish breakfast, which I enjoyed immensely 👌

After this, we need Pedro Pascal on Hot Ones! I absolutely loved watching the dynamic between Jon Favreau and Pedro Pascal. So comfortable and fun together!

For some reason, I love how there is two servings of each item, one for each of them, but they break it apart and share ❤️

The way those dulce de leche cookies look, how they break ever so softly, is what I imagine food in Ghibli films to be like in real life. They look *so* appealing.

They're "alfajores de maicena", which is two cookies made of corn starch and sugar (tastes better than it sounds) with manjar in the middle, and sprinkled with shredded coconut, they're a little bit dry but absolutely delicious

My fiancé is from Chile, I’m just a white dude from NY. I’ve never seen a family consume more bread than my fiancé’s . Lmaooo and I love it so no complaints from me. But without a doubt the best bread I’ve ever had from her family .

I got nothing but respect for pedro pascal, his performance as mando and lately his performance as joel. Dude is a tour de force of acting even without saying a word. Dude has chemistry with everyone. Also, I love reece's and damn empanadas are great. I wanna visit South America, and definitely have chile on a bucket list.

I visited Chile once to stay with a host family and they introduced me to Manjar. Glorious stuff, I don't think I was supposed to bring food over the border but I smuggled some manjar home, which I then had for breakfast for a while and it was very sad when it ran out XD

I went to Chile last year in April (Santiago). It was very fun. I highly recommend it. The food is delicious many different people from other countries as well. Maybe I would move there someday

I lived in Chile for 12 years and I can confidently say that they have GREAT food. What is most impresive is that a lot of it is very healthy. 100% would recommend to go to Chile and eat everything !

The empanada is something that fills me with pride tbh. The stuffing is so cleverly combined, it's a more complex flavor than other empanadas and it's oven baked so the bread is crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside, also healthier than fried empanadas.

One of the few things that makes me feel proud of being Chilean is the fact that Pedro Pascal loves this country so much 🥺🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱

Oh man. I lived in Chile for a few years, returning just in time for C19. One of my best friends still sends me boxes of my favorite Chilean snacks from time to time. I really like the wafer in Super 8, but more it just reminds me of "tre' por luca" vendors walking through Estación Central. Guaguitas, Frugele, and Tableton are my top three dulces. (Edit: speaking of marrequeta, I would do anything for a choripán right now.)

I gotta say, it's really nice to see these, where the participants are actually eating the items. And not only eating, you can see they are both about food, flavor and nostalgia. Like Jon Favreau made a movie about being a chef, so I get the clear feeling he is definitely a foodie, but Pedro Pascal, besides being ridiculously charming and affable in every scenario, also has a love for the food.

Wow, as a guy who's born in America to Chilean immigrant parents, This video feels so personal. Leche con platano, empanadas, avocado toast in the morning, manjar, pastries... super 8 that my cousins would bring me from Chile. Every single thing on this list has been a big part of my family life lol.

Food is to be shared. In Chile (as also many other places) it’s rude to eat in front of friends or family without offering.

I'm a Bolivian living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma... seeing that marraqueta almost made me cry. That is THE best bread that you buy from a vendor on the corner every single morning. They usually have them in a big canvas sack or basket and its the absolute best.

If the Chilean empanada came from a shop near Paddington station in London, then it likely came from Harrison's coffee shop. They do empanada's there really well.

Jon Favreau is an actual certified chef, he is just enjoying all these 🤣

I think it speaks to Pedro as a person that he takes the time to explain things to the producer when questions arise. No ego to it. No judgement to it.

Half of my dad's family is Chilean and when I visited for the first time, all the food was delicious. I can't even begin to describe how good their food is. Pedro is right, Chile does sweets and bread probably better than the US. I hope I can go back to Chile one day (Edit) I didn’t mean to start a war in the comments I was just stating my opinion😅

@@esperanzamoore6655 This is because you only had it a few times and it was during an emotional and meaningful trip. This is the psychology of why everyone likes the food better when they travel. I lived in Chile for 5 years and the food was pretty good, but after a while you really start to miss what you’re used to and the flavors that are familiar to you.

Favreau is very passionate about food. One of my most favorite feel good movies is Chef and he basically made that as a passion project.

His face when said “and it’s a vanilla shake from Chile?” 😂😂😂 Also he did not need to look at the camera that way and say “It’s a healthy snack 😏” in that tone! Jeeze what is he trying to do to us 😮‍💨
