“Ella” is a short film in a series that shows the life of children with epilepsy. There are many types of seizures and several different ways to handle them, but epilepsy is much more than the seizures. My first seizure was like hers when I was 4. I was in preschool and the teachers didn’t call for an ambulance. In fact they yelled at me and I didn’t even know what was happening

My Mom mentioned I had Seizures in Elementary and the School called my Mom to take me home. Calling an Ambulance isn’t necessary unless the Seizure lasts more than five minutes.

Can you please tell me how you are dealing with this? My 4 years old cousin has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy. The doctor has prescribed some medications. But the side effects are horrific. He doesn’t walk, doesn’t sit, doesn’t eat either. Sleeps all day. His stare is blank. Can't even held his head still. It's quite heartbreaking to see such active kid becoming so lifeless

@@omiyaothai It depends on what Epilepsy your Cousin has there are many different solutions. Mine is Photosensitive Epilepsy. Luckily my Seizures were caused by a Brain Tumor that mine was removed when I was 8. Now I recently watched a movie called First Do No Harm. It’s a true story about a Little Boy with Epilepsy that his Medicine made him worse it was slowly killing him like all the other Patients with Epilepsy. Luckily his Mother read a book about the Ketogenic Diet that cured her Son.

I was almost her age when I got my first seizure, hardly remembers my second attack four years later. One moment you're okay and the other moment you forgot where you are and what you're doing. :)

I've was diagnosed with epilepsy last year but my first seizure was 4 years ago. I manage to live a pretty normal life juggling many other medical conditions. The worst thing for me at the moment is the constant headaches. I've only been back at school for 2 days but I'm already struggling with work

I think she means it's sad that a child has to go through this. In America sometimes we say oh that's a shame when something is sad or something bad happens to someone that's so precious.
