    Yes Kelly, when movies used to be wholesome, families used to matters, people used to be concerned about others , etc....now social media made people priority upside down, starve for strangers attention above spending time with love ones . My son said if I want to know what our family doing I need to get on fakebook, which I won’t, ever.....wish a time machine takes me back to 80s , but for now I enjoy these yt oldies movies, more meaningful than Netflix new mind numbing antiGod dark agenda talentless scripts propaganda programming , dumb down world, in society where evil is good and good is evil, common sense is a rarity .

    This is definitely not family friendly. I did watch the whole thing,which I regret. Three out of the four children have serious issues. Even though their father dumped his family and they him because he was an alley cat one son is happy to have sex with multiple married women he happens to walk by. The oldest daughter is a continuous victim of domestic abuse. The responsible daughter who chose to be a nun due to her faith, leaves her vows (which is fine) but purposefully gets pregnant with a nice guy she knows so she can be a single mother. The most stable son is looked down upon by everyone due to his choices. Yes there are some funny moments but it is really a sad movie showcasing how the father's sins have damaged his children,even into adulthood.

  • @burtonaka___

    @burtonaka___

    11 ай бұрын

    You re right it's not family-friendly. However, it's a portrait of the mother. It's about her. She's the glue and yes, the children are hers but they have genetics of 2 parents. Not coincidentally, Mary was wearing identical outfit to emphasize this: being a mother and being supportive to the extent of being both parents in the absence of one

  • @burtonaka___

    @burtonaka___

    11 ай бұрын

    The males and females were contrasted. The two with children were basically cast in an empty nest ( coincidentally, Kristy Mc Nichol was in a sitcom of the same name ). The son had 2 daughters. They both fell short of expectations, personally, but committed themselves to parenthood.

  • @burtonaka___

    @burtonaka___

    11 ай бұрын

    The moral of the story, if there is one, is that it broached the subject of expectations from outside influences and following your heart. It came from the 2 with children, of course, but the point was to see that they all were doing that and it didn't change the overall commitment to one another. The father was notably absent to emphasize who the movie was about
