“Me and Your Mama” lyrics:
[Intro]
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
I'm in love when we are smoking that la-la-la-la-la
[Chorus 1]
Do what you want
I'm telling you
Let me into your heart
[Verse 1]
Can't stand it, backhanded
They wanna see us falling apart
You know that I love you
So let me into you
[Chorus 2]
Let me into your heart
(Do you really love me?
I'ma get you, girl, ahhh!)
[Verse 2]
This is the end of us
Sleeping with the moon and the stars
I know where you've been
You can see us far then near
[Chorus 3]
Let me into your heart
Oh, this ain't no bullshit
I really love you, girl
Oh, oh God
[Bridge]
Girl, you really got a hold on me
So this isn't just puppy love
Girl, you really got a hold on me
So this isn't just puppy love
[Outro]
I'm in love when we are smokin' that
Oh my God, I
Let me in
Girl you really got a hold, woo!

Every person who manages to truly understand this song is privileged in my opinion. Not everybody gets it. This is a true masterpiece. The song has so many layers, so many genius details. It comes directly from the soul and it's once in a lifetime. There's no other song like this.I've been digging in the depths of spotify, youtube and everywhere to find something at least similar. There's no other piece of music that makes me feel this way. I cant even explain exactly why is it like that. I was blessed to have had perfect hearing on the day i first heard it. LOL

This song is IT, without a doubt. But if you have time, I recommend Scary Pockets - You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC cover). It's not quite this level, but it is a masterpiece imo. Judith Hill, the background vocals, the band... everything is just chef's kiss. You can tell everyone in the video was having a good time and knew they were on to something special. I feel like the beginning is the “puppy love” aspect of some relationships. It feels like a dream and everything is just whimsical and you couldn’t have a care in the world. As the song goes on, you can hear and feel the bass get more louder, more invasive. Once that beat drops, I feel like it almost shows “real love.” The beat feels way more harsh and wanting. You can feel the desire in the beat and how it isn’t a fake, obsessive, “puppy love”, but so much more than that. You could say “real love.”

Fuck the second half is so good. It freely changes between a 6/8 and 4/4 feel, so damn cool. It's not easy to pull that off and have it sound as natural as it does here. If you want to experience this, when the second section starts, try tapping in groups of 3 or groups of 2. Feel how it will be "correct" and on groove for a sec, but then feel off. Donnie is a badass

I can't with this song. Imagine when his children grow up and they hear this. This is just on a different level of amazing. The composition, the realization, transition of emotions, the comfort of being with someone through the early stages and it being so, chill relaxed, than coming to the realization that it's getting real, and now nothing matters. You have me, this love is real and it will become something because it's like no other. Than the vibe comes back in. My god. This is more than music.

So he put out a tv show, will be playing Lando, and has a new album in December. He could stop doing music all together if he wanted to in which I would fucking go crazy if he did but he didn't! I'm so glad he didn't forget about his fans that love his music ! This song dope af and the beat is everything god I missed him so much.

fans who were upset with that lack of rap seem to forget Childish has never gone by the handle "rapper". he's stated in so many interviews he just wants to make music for people to listen to and even then that he has other things in his crosshairs, writing, acting, producing, etc. whatever he does I'll still think of him as an extraordinary guy. Derrick Comedy seems like it was so far away.

That's the reason why I disregard the opinions of rap fans because they always want to put the artist in a box and not give them enough room to grow creatively.

While this whole piece of work is amazing and while i completely love the direction he went with the project, i think you're forgetting that Donald had two whole mixtapes named "I'm just a rapper" and "I'm just a rapper 2"
@OceansOfMotionStudios
7 жыл бұрын
Jax1762 I have listened to both those albums but even during their releases he was working on things other than rapping (as previously stated). Obviously the names of two mixtapes do not directly superceed his the fact that he had and is still showing us rapping isn't all he does. He was on YT before he even began rapping.
The ending feels like laying on a soft cloud gently swaying side to side while being lowered back to earth after the song teleported you through space and time.👁️👁️ I can't wait to listen to this while I'm baked, i might levitate lmaoo!🤣
I spent 2 weeks looking for this song and I finally found it, what a real joy.❤

when the part 4:09 starts you know that the music is ending. it’s just perfect the music slows down and you have the time to prepare yourself and think “oh it’s ending already” but you know you still have a little more time to enjoy.

I love this song so much l. It brings peacefulness and love. With the vibrations and the gorgeous singing thats repetitive which brings the scene into place in your mind. Then you have the hardcore bit which sounds like the love is growing stronger and the heat is thriving in the air. And it continues for a while and slowly drifts off but is still there. You then have the slow bit at the end almost like the love has ended and is drifting off somewhere we don’t know but is still kind of there but then you loose it.
this has to be one of the greatest songs of all time
