We are a team with a very good defense and an offense that can't close the deal. Veach made a big mistake not paying for WRs. I think last year made him over confident that Mahomes could make it work without star WRs. I hope he learns his lesson. Without WRs teams just triple team Kelce and shut it down. To think how good this team with a great defense, great running game and great TE would be if we had a #1 receiver. Bite the bullet next year and let Jones walk so we can sign a star WR. Higgins is a free agent!! Mike Evens on a 2 year deal?!?

This game shows exactly the reason why Green Bay let MVS go, he consistently drops huge passes. Also it feels a little bit like Green Bay with Aarod about 7 to 5 years ago where the Front Office thinks the Quarterback is so special he can win with anybody. Rodgers had Adams and Mahomes has Kelce. Obviously they have a really good defense but help the guy out a little and give him a consistent WR Core. Can't always be a two man show.

Agreed somewhat... Mahomes always has had an abundance of weapons on offense and an elite O-line with one of the greatest play callers in Andy Reid. And the Chiefs have made attempts to draft WRs in the 2nd round. Meanwhile the Packers drafted Aaron's backup in the 1st round after an MVP szn while Rodgers was playing behind a sorry O-line, so the Packers went and drafted 3 O-lineman all in the 6th round 😂😂

Nick puts the blame onto Mahomes and Kelce because they're both undisputed HOFers. He can then follow up any criticism with "what, you don't have faith in Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce?" But Brou and many others have been calling out the receivers all season long. It's week 12 and things aren't improving. If you're 10 games into a 17 game season and your receivers look incompetent, that's a real problem.

Yeah and the AFC is such a bloodbath and those margins are gonna get tight in games. I'm honestly not convinced KC can even get out of the divisional round if the WR's keep playing like this. If his argument is that it's on Mahomes and Kelce to deliver near perfect play to compensate, well that's certainly a take. But it's an idiotic one. The Chiefs have the 14th ranked scoring offense, 22.5 PPG. They score less than the Colts or Browns with a backup, and the fundamental root cause of that is not Mahomes or Kelce.

Let's consider the facts: 1) The Chiefs WR core has been lacking. 2) It was cold and raining, and that pretty obviously affected the passing game on both sides. It's not like Kelce usually has butterfingers. 3) The Chiefs threw the ball twice as much as the Eagles, despite having a pretty efficient running game working for once. At some point, you kind of have to expect coaching to stop putting their players into unnecessarily difficult positions, and just shift gears to something that actually works. If someone asked me before the game if I thought this Chiefs team would do well throwing it 40 times in the rain, I'd have said probably not.
