Using a commencement ceremony to air your grievances is pretty idiotic. A commencement speech is supposed to be uplifting and motivational for the graduates. All Butker did was lick some conservative boots and throw out a bunch of overused Fox News buzzwords. A chimp could be taught to kick a ball, and could clearly take Butker’s place in a heart beat.

I am not woke by any means , also raised Catholic, my Aunt was Catholic Nun...I left my religion behind when I left home , got married, blah ,blah...Married 2X by the age of 24...I have 3 children (daughters). So divorced the second time and single parent no child support at Father's refusal....I guess I'm saying ,it was a hard life ,my children suffered from my mistakes not being around ( working overtime as as I could). They were latch key kids...I wish I could go back ,a do over if my faith, it doesn't have to be Catholic, just taken that great leap and put my family there Together...that's all..

Unfortunately you’re right. In a major metroplex, household income needs to make over $200k, which is the top 5% of earners if a one-income model. That still should be the goal. If your man comes home from his 8-5 desk job, cracks a beer and plays Call of Duty, then he is failing you. Men should work 60+ hours a week, every week. Every high performing man does.

All the roles require a lot of work... being a good mom is just as hard, but much more rewarding, than career accolades. If you mean his view that women should not have careers, well, then, he never said that or implied that, said the exact opposite of that, and doesn't believe that. Which his mother probably knows. There are many professional women in the world who still agree with him but particularly in a Catholic university, what he say about women looking forward to get married and have children is accurate. Those are conservative values, go figure!

I bet she doesn’t have kids. I’m a man who works 2 jobs and I’m more excited about the kids I bring into this world and the person lm building my life with than my career and I love what I do - my work is to make sure my family has what they need and that’s more important, their happiness and quality to life. This is a commencement speech at a Christian college. Many of the haters have this idea that there's only one way for a women to be successful and that's to graduate from some liberal university and then go out and save the world.

If he is telling women to be homemakers then would he be ok if women told men to be stay at home dads and quit their jobs. As simple as that, when men can choose to do what they want and decide for themselves then so can women and we don't need to dictate terms or moral police each other.

My mom stayed at home for us. She started her career after we all left home, and ended up working right up until she died, even though she didn’t need the money. I’m pretty sure she was trying to make up for the career she gave up.

Wouldn't be surprised if he got a show on a right wing network or on social medial if he gets fired from the Kansas City Chiefs.

Well the issue is that it is a confessional school at least in the name, and they apparently pick religious zealots as there role models, the real issue is women should not be attending mysoginistic institutions for school no catholic ,evangelical, muslim or any such place and sinve women are today over 50% of students those houses of study would go the way of the dodo bird.

They had the choice. The school has their standards.

A football player can see the value of human life just like the rest of us. Glad he spoke up for the innocent lives who can't speak for themselves. What he said about his wife was beautiful. Being a wife and mom are the most rewarding roles I've had in life. And we need strong, godly, present men in this country. Thankful that my husband is one.

I wonder how he treats his mother......

@@MondoRdr His mother is doctor and a physicist who also teaches in the medical school oncology department. But he may have 'mommy issues'. He must not have inherited her intelligence.

He gave a speech to a catholic school to an audience that gave him a standing ovation... He was staying in his lane. You are part of the problem. Not him.

Wow, just wow. He is a kicker? I know where i want to *gently* place my foot.. obvs if I can get out of the kitchen and out of the bed!

This is his opinion, no more than that. All he is telling the graduates is how he views and treats his wife. His speech does not reflect Catholic theology nor dogma or doctrine. The content of his speech is not even found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. He is not clergy, he might be an alter server or acolyte.

We need to cancels then people that are always complaining

Send in the FBI, video host.. lol. It wasn't a hate speech or inciting violence, rather a Catholic college with someone speaking of their views.

@@kayallen7603 The Benedictine Sisters are literally the most notorious group of rabble-rousing feminists in the whole Church. They have been subject to silence orders from the Vatican multiple times in the last fifty years. What they said in reply was not only entirely predictable, it was also out of step with Church teachings and based on a very uncharitable and misrepresentative reading of his speech. We love the Benedictine Sisters, but we don't take them very seriously. They're bad at being Catholic. It's a thing.

I've never watched a football game in my life, but I already love this dude.
