Being German, when I saw Babi Yar being attacked and hit by Russian missiles I had tears in my eyes immediately. In other videos, seeing Ukrainian children, suffering with cancer, taking shelter in the cold basement of a childrens' hospital ... I have no words that are appropriate to describe my feelings about all those crimes being committed to the Ukrainian people by the Russian government. Unfortunately, I'm considered too old to join the International Brigade established by the Ukrainian government right now.

So, by mixing the languages instead of saying "Glory to Ukraine" you are really saying that "Ukraine is slave" or "To turn Ukraine into a slave" 🤦. But I have observed that certain ideas, like chesed, kindness are pretty hard baked into Judaism. Perhaps it would be better to say that these men live out well, the concepts of justice, mercy and kindness, but also enormous courage, that are (or should be) at the heart of Judaism well lived.

Absolutely true. Too many Americans are self centered, indifferent to others & lack genuine compassion, concern & empathy for anyone other than themselves, encouraged by narcissistic 45. Too many Americans have a very warped understanding of true patriotism. Having been around for more than a few decades, I remember a very different country where the political divide wasn't continuous & there was bipartisan cooperation. Hopefully some will learn what real patriotism is from seeing the incredibly courageous, strong, brave, determined Ukrainians. Maybe some Americans will appreciate the freedom we have & realize it's never guaranteed. US democracy is on the brink of being destroyed from lying, propaganda, corruption, fraud, the 01/06/21 insurrection/attempted coup in Trump's GQP attempted power grab. Voter's rights are serious threatened. Similarities between Putin/Trump are glaringly obvious. He also feels he's untouchable. I pray that's not the case but worry given the number of crimes he's committed. Caring, empathy, compassion & humanity for others is an integral trait. What we're seeing in Ukraine is evil, genocide. I've just shared this with my Chabad rabbi in Maryland, USA.

What a great man who stands with God and truth. I love these jews who know what family and community means. Hes not afraid to die because he knows God and has prepared well his soul.
