CHIEF ENGINEER OF TOYOTA CROWN SERIES // IN-DEPTH INTERVIEW // CROWN SIGNIA // ENGINEER'S DISCUSSION
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
So exactly how did Toyota create and develop the new Crown series, which includes the Crown sedan (crossover), Crown Signia as well as not-sold-in-North-America Crown Sport and Crown traditional sedan? Automotive Engineer David Chao and Toyota Crown's Chief Engineer Ryutaro Shimizu go over many details around the new Crown series, especially the just introduced Crown Signia. Based in Japan, the Chief Engineer has a lot of insight which might surprise you.

David, Please let Ryutaro Shimizu know how thrilled we are to have a new wagon from Toyota. 🙌🙌🙌🙌Would Mr Shimizu please engineer a Crown Signia XLE for us Canadians? A Signia LE with cloth seats and 17" rims would be even better. Ideally our Canadian Signias would come equipped with a 40/20/40 rear seat. 😁😁

Agree. What about us ex-Canadians though? I like your idea.
Please let Toyota know that we want the Crown Sport here in the United States. I have no interest at all in the Crown Signia but would buy the Crown Sport immediately
Love these interviews with engineers.
I was really excited seeing the Crown Sport and hopeful that it would come to the US. I really like the Signia too and may actually buy on once the initial hype and dealer mark ups subside after the initial launch. I'd probably go for an XLE since the Limited has the fixed glass roof which I have never understood. It's just not practical in a hot climate like Southern California where I live, it needs to be able to open. Also I'd like to see the Crown emblems on the car vice the Toyota emblems, the Crown emblem is really cool. Maybe Toyota could make that an option, I'd pay a couple hundred more for the Crown emblems.
My father had a 1982 Toyota Crown sedan, it had a 2.8 straight 6 cylinder, oh the memories
I wish they would manufacture the Camry wagon again as a plugin hybrid. Crown is a great start. 😊

Please ask to have crown emblem added to Crown Signia, that will be awesome!!
Round of applause to Toyota for bringing the Crown Signia to North America. Can't stand all the SUV:s. Need more wagons like that on the road here.

This is delayed and only 20k total are coming….
If the actual Crown badge is on the N.A. Crowns that would be awesome
The crown is very innovative
USA needs the Crown Sport
Why Crown sport is not available in North America
Thank you for great video. Will the Toyota Signia be sold in Europe?
I would like to see a crown sport with the bullet proof 4.0 v6 like in the 4-runner
Will a plugin hybrid version be available in the USA?
god bless you Toyota! even in hybrid i will continue to buy your internal combustion engines
40 yrs ago in Iraq, we owned a 1982 and my grand father owned the 1985 toyota crown super saloon. great cars maybe the lexus LS 460 is the one could feel like a real crown.
Please ask them to bring the crown sport to the U.S. thank you
So sad that Toyota is getting rid of the independent turn signals. I wish they would kept the amber rear turn signals or at least a different bulb than the brake lights. Even the domestic brands decided to go with that, even the F-150 has rear amber turn signals now.
Why Crown RS advanced is not available in North America
What is the idea for the plastic that appears to be glued on the lower side of the crossover? Looks terrible and worse with lighter colors.
Looks like a Chery
I heard they may be building a new SUV under the crown name, and Lexus version higher than LX, they should have used the name estate
Peace out ✌🏻👐🏻
2024 where are plugin vehicles?
I really wish they would sell the Century worldwide.

Lexus is the Luxury Div. of Toyoda... So is Acura of Honda, and Infinity of Nissan... Small outfit like Subaru, Mitsubishi, and Mazda don't have Luxury Div. only Top Trims with Leather and High-End Parts like Mag-wheels ... and so on?

Is the Crown brand supposed to be seen then as a line of vehicles in between Toyota and Lexus? Nicer than a Toyota, but not quite as premium as a Lexus? I did not fully pick up on that from the interview.

@@MR3DDev I would say yes and no to that: I am hoping their "all electric by 2030" means nearly all hybrids. At the same time it was Tesla's strategy to start with more expensive vehicles and then move down consumer. Although hopefully Toyota would stop at only sending their "richest" customers down river.

@@MR3DDevyour a lucky guy, I have a Lexus es300h and let me to you they are a brilliant car
I would have asked, why is this vehicle delayed? 😂
Please answer this. Why no auto power steering adjustment. No DOWN settings on the passenger seat and no memory settings on the passenger side. Simple things. This is supposed to be the jewel of Toyota vehicles. For crying out loud the Tundra pro gets 8 way adjustable passenger seating but not the Crown? I bang my head every time I get into my Toyota Venza on the passenger side. I'm only 5'10. If the seat was lower or HAD THAT ABILITY this wouldn't happen. Is there Subscription service for Toyota Safety sense? You have to pay $15 a month for this feature still? Did the price go up?
What and when will the safety recalls be fixed on the newer Tundras with twin turbo v6. Can't even trade them in. When will the problems be fixed or what does Toyota intend to do.
Maybe is time for lexus to retire..
Why does Toyota deny Americans all the nice features that the Japanese cars get. I know our population may be considered savages compared to the Japanese. Nevertheless, our military muscle prevents China from stream rolling you’ll!!! Send that message directly to Morizo!!😂😂

I've done many interviews like this, and neither the viewer nor the interviewee want to leave-in the Japanese portion for the final video, since the viewers are 99% English speaking audience. And the interviewee is actually quite happy not to be too involved with their Japanese portion being shown.
