Kathi Rolls as I understand originated in Kolkata, India, courtesy Nizam’s restaurant. Still recall the early eighties when a soccer match involving Mohun Bagan at the Kolkata Maidan, or a Hollywood movie at one of the Esplanade theaters, was incomplete without a Beef Roll at Nizam’s, the price was an unbelievable Re. 0.70!!!!!

These are karachi rolls. Wo kathi to ap log vegetable ya cheeze ke banata hai. Yeah orignated in karachi. Is main green chatni nhn termerind chati sour and aoricot chatni sweet hoti hai. Yeah hamari dish hai.

You got it all wrong. Probably you didn’t read the comment properly. Nizam’s is famous for beef roll and that is what we simply used to devour. They also serve mutton & chicken rolls - everything to do with meat. And the fact that Kathi rolls originated in Kolkata, the founder being Nizam’s, is a historical fact that no one can deny. Deleting comments only speaks of highhandedness; it doesn’t change the truth. That does not take away any credit of the chef or the Karachi rolls. They are as delicious or may be even more than many of the famous outlets in Kolkata, the home of the meaty Kathi rolls. In fact I am a great admirer of this channel, and the chef and have tried out at least four recipes presented by him - All were simply divine.

Just to share with you all - I still remember my school, college & early workdays when an Imran Khan poster wearing a T-Shirt displaying the message “Big Boys Play At Night” adorned my humble drawing room.
