If you look at the food its definitely inspired by Indian styles of cooking that's where Portugal got its spices

@@Fun_is_everything777 Former Portuguese colonies like Goa, Diu, Daman and Some selected hotels in Mumbai like Goa Portuguesa, O Pedro, Viva Goa, Porto and Poie, Colonial Palate to name a few and there are Bakeries in Bandra, Mumbai.

Great recipe. It's a fusion of Portuguese with a modern twist that some people with narrow minds may criticize but I think those Portuguese with opened minds would love to try and would enjoy very much.

This recipe looks scrumptious! I loved the way you baked the red peppers and added to chicken!

My great-grandmother was from the Azores and neither she nor my nana made chicken like that .... but they sure did make a great pot of Portuguese kale soup with chorizo in it ..... something I'm going to make soon ..... and this chicken recipe too! Thank you for sharing .... looks fabulous!

"I can't eat anything spicy my stomach can't take it" For what it's worth, replace the "spices" by natural herbs of your liking. Might not be exactly the same. But will allow you to build wonderful and pleasant tastes, without the down side. ;-)

Hi i made this tonight i found using thigh meat really fatty can i use breast? Also it is quite spicy how can i reduce it a little? Definitely the pepper option and half the cumin and miss out the cayenne if you dont want it too spicy

@@recipe30 pretty soon when we are back to normal I hope people really travel like they've always wanted to. It's not always easy for people. But if anyone gets the opportunity, go for it. The food there is great and its family style a lot of the time, so you get good food AND alot of it! 🤣

Nice try, but in Portugal we do it quite simple! Sauce is everything, everyone has a secret about the sauce, some with spice(piri Piri), others with lot of lemon, olive oil, paprika and garlic, and others with extra flavor coming from herbs. The best is to use grill and preference not electrical, but using coal, and then you've got the famous Frango no Churrasco!

Kate Nerone Absolutely, single mistake I made was sea salt, slightly to much, but the chicken came out great, the thighs have a slight fattiness, but adds flavour. Yes, will cook again.

My husband prefers white meat, but I made 3 protein Jambalaya a couple of weeks ago and used chicken thighs, and he loved it. I'm going to make this recipe one night this week 😊
