That's the property of 99.99% games made in a crappy Unity engine. It spins GPU/CPU to the max even if nothing is happening, even if you are in a menu/pause and minimize the game, it'd still going to take as much as it can.

@@jkkrk6510 It'd be noticeable on fps/overall smoothness but the game could run at 9001 fps at the same time (part of the reason for this actually, bad greedy handling of resources).

The lore of Chicken in the Darkness is so detailed and dense. There needs to be expanded universe novels.

Their PC is running the game at as high of a framerate as it can handle (probably over 800 FPS if it's a decent gaming PC) because crappy games like this often forget to cap the framerate. That's what "Vsync" does, caps the framerate in line with your monitor's refresh rate, but good games will generally just cap FPS at 60 or 120 anyways. This is incredibly common in poorly developed "indie" games, and is WAY more likely than having a cryptocurrency miner. I've experienced it multiple times myself, but I was able to fix it with Nvidia's control panel. But it's really the game's fault. Your first thought when a crappy quality game is making your fans run at max speed should always be "The framerate is uncapped"

Yes a game might feel smoother, I and all my friends set Minecraft for example to 120 even when only 60 is visible - but UNCAPPED means your FPS will often go into the thousands with a good computer. Launching crapware games like this nearly always makes my fans freak out because the FPS is 800+, and that is beyond unnecessary.

One would not SIMPLY believe that I have been waiting all day for Part 2 of Chicken in the Darkness 🤣😂

Uncapped framerate, likely running at over 600FPS because it can. Needs Vsync or other framerate capping option. Very common in crappy production quality games like this.

I think someone mentioned this earlier, but I really hope they play Tattletail. It's a great combination of horror and Christmas, plus their commentary on it would be really interesting and funny.

They would be using GPU/CPU computation to mine cryptocurrencies for the creator in the background while the game plays (or worse, even after the game shuts down, causing the computer's resources to be used up by the miner program) It's the most logical reason for a computer to be heating up like that with such a low quality game.

That was an edit by Matt or Ryan, not the game itself. As for why they did it... I dunno, seems like whoever was editing thought the stamina meter had something to do with enemies showing up. Pretty dang sure it didn't though.

"Optimized" is a strong umbrella term here, the problem is they didn't cap the framerate to 60 or so with Vsync. Sure it could be poorly optimized, but that wouldn't make a gaming PC run the fans so high. If a really low quality game makes your fans run full speed, your first assumption should be it has an uncapped framerate and is running as high as your computer will allow. This can actually be fixed manually with Nvidia's control panel, not sure about other graphics cards though.

I fully expected one of that to say "Oh lawd, he coming".

Juliuz Thats actually kind of a neat way to do resource management. You benefit from running from one monster, while the other one punishes you for doing so. Then use the water bottles to juggle the two.

By the time it took for them to see it when it was coming directly at them later, I'm guessing the video's gamma is higher than what they're seeing on their screen.

I was a complete nerve wreck with that damn zombie head floating around

made the mistake of cozying up with a cup of coffee to watch this and that first jump scare made me splash it alllll over myself :') on a serious note: thank you for taking time out of the game grumps already busy schedule to continue making ghoul grumps

By the end of this episode, i estimate that Arin's computer has helped the 'game devs' mine ~10 bitcoins . . . . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~WWWWHHHHHIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRR ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's got a simplistic charm to it that makes the monsters scarier I love this game

This is so underrated, man. I think this is one of their funniest scary games ever
