Our chickens were fairly private when it came to dustbathing, and whenever we walked by they would always stop and give us the stink eye until we were gone and then resume bathing. It was actually kind of funny

Our chicken flock loved to bathe in the dirt on a nice sunny day, often spreading out their wings to get at the warm UV Rays.

You should make like a little shade canopy for them. Keep the sand nice and cool so on hot days they can cool off even more with the dust bath.

Chickens don't like fine sand, you should get sand which contains gravel or pieces of stones in it

I have couple of ladies among my flock love standing next to who ever sand bathing pluck and eat feathers I tied hi protien food supplement anti pecking spray and every thing under the sun and nothing seem to work So I isolate them two during dust bath time

Not sure...I hear that if no roosters are around a hen can take a dominant role and possibly become a bully. Seemed to be grooming a bit though.

@@HenrooWorld actually chickens usually don’t like fine sand they like dirt sand which is sand but has little stones, dirt, little parts of wood, crunched leafs, sticks, little strains of hay.
