There was an entire professional dance group at my friends wedding, and all their invited family and friends secretly requested them to dance this at the very start instead. The most hilarious experience I’ve ever had in my life the few moments from when they formed their majestic starting positions, to when the music started and they just started ”walking” around comically with chicken arms for like 10 secs. Everyone was laughing. I will never forget the look on our married friends faces lmao

Gosh, the memories...Opening and closing your hand like it's a little beak...Flapping your arms like the wings...Shaking your butt to the ground...And clapping your hands 4 times. At a certain part of the song, ( 0:26 ) We would find a partner, cross one of our arm in that other persons arm, and spin in a circle. I'm not sure if this was only my preschool, or it was part of the dance. I remember doing this in preschool, and all of the children and teachers were laughing, singing, and having fun. After this song, they would always play the cha cha slide next before the group activities. The years went by so fast. I feel so lost now. - Lilly.

Why cant i stop thinking about madness combat

What a lot of people don't realise, is that the proper name for this is actually 'The bird dance.' Somewhere along the line it became associated with chickens and has been dubbed 'The chicken dance' ever since.

All of us 90s kids have been indoctrinated with this damn song.

This brings me back to going to the skating rink in elementary school at the end of the year and skating around awkwardly to the song.
