CHICAGO VOL. 4 (Chicago dogs & Italian beef sandwiches)
We (ok, just Clint) tried a big Chicago staple - Malort! The next morning we woke up to a lot of rain that we weren't exactly prepared for and altered our original plans. We ended up finally getting that Chicago dog and trying an Italian beef sandwich! We have enjoyed Chicago so much and can't wait to come back. #chicago #travel

I live in a suburb of Chicago and this is the first time I've heard of Chicago Handshake. I also never had the guts to try Malort and after seeing your video I know I am not going to try it. Although some people may prefer Al's Beef, Portillo's also has very good Italian beef sandwiches as well.

Glad you enjoyed despite weather (and surviving nasty Malort) the best food is away from tourist traps, and Chicago pizza is not deep dish (aka tourist pizza, even as locals eat occasionally), but super thin cut in squares called tavern pizza, by far the most consumed.)

telling someone to go to portillos for a good dog or beef is like telling someone to go to mcdonalds for a good burger. the mom and pop grills have way better or better yet home dopot has better dogs than portillos

As you travel around, have you ever asked a local where their favorite place is to get say a burger or whatever you are wanting to try?

Yes! we ask our tour guides, servers, friends that have been/lived in the places we visit. We try to get as much info as possible :)

portillos use to be good. when they blew up the quality dropped. The italian beef is more like a french dip. can hardly taste the italian seasonings
