Chicago Style Eats - Episode 0113 - The Freddy

For as many stories as there are that claim Benny Russo - credited with inventing the sandwich known as the Freddy - named it after his son, there are just as many saying he didn't. The only thing we know is true is that this simple, Italian-inspired handful is a tasty bite of Chicago's southwest side and its nearby suburbs!

    I am surprised that I never heard of The Freddy. It's definitely something I would try. Good stuff!

    Good review… I don't think I would like this much either. I would rather just have a char grilled Italian sausage at Johnnie's on North Avenue. The idea of red sauce and cheese on a sausage sandwich just does not appeal to me... I did have the breaded steak sandwich years ago and thought it was fantastic
