Ms. Melanie, I love how you use EVERY bit of the ingredients....this is my 3rd video of yours I've watched today and I've noticed you use your mixtures all throughout the recipes, like what you did here with the lemons and herbs...I just found you today and noticed some trolls on some of your other videos, well I'm here to tell you, I love the trivia and facts you provide about the dishes, I also love the elegance you exude in your videos and I can't help but think about how cozy and inviting your home is....Great job!

You made my day. I try my best. My videos are aired on local TV and I care (a lot) about what I do. That said, sometime I make an occasional mistake (because they are shot live). Again, you made my day my new friend. ~ Mel

+melcancook Well, I suppose making a mistake makes you human; it's allowed! I'm not certain about the part of the country you're from, but, I'm from Georgia, where we preface a lady's first name with "Ms." and we know LOTS about amazing food, as well, so, I'll be checking out more of your videos! Thanks for replying!

Many people call me Ms. Mel. I had an Aunt Yula from NC, who married into our family when I was VERY young. She was dear to my Yankee heart.

+melcancook Lol! The world is big enough for all of us...Aunt Yula sounded like a lovely lady....I bet her recipes called for "pinches" instead of actual measurements...As I've gotten older and started developing my own style of cooking, I was unpleasantly surprised at how little written recipes were left in my family with from my grandmothers and great-aunt's; my grandmother made the BEST rice pudding from scratch, I still remember the sound of the sugar crust when she would break into it to give me some...it would've been nice to have had some of those, which probably explains why I gravitate towards your videos, as well as people like Julia Childs, Jacques Pepin, Paula Deen and Nancy Fuller....There is something quite warm about watching someone with so much experience create meals because you just know there's going to be some amazing new things to learn AND taste...

Eric -- My pronunciation is the UK pronunciation of it, which is where I learned about the dish. Feel free to look it up! Thanks for the comment though -- I find the "he" on the end a bit awkward sounding.

@@melcancook yes, but it's a Chicago recipe-- from Belgians. Not sure UK pronunciation applies. Appreciate the video!
