Chicago mayor wants to MOVE MIGRANTS from downtown shelter to South Side
A number of Chicago residents voiced objections to a proposal put forth by Mayor Brandon Johnson. It seeks to move migrants from a downtown shelter and place them in a temporary migrant shelter on the South Side.

I used to live in a black neighborhood in Charlotte N.C. I still live in the same neighborhood but now it is mostly Hispanic. This kind of thing has been happening in big cities in the South for decades but is only now being seen as a problem now that it is happening in the North. There are many black residents in need in Charlotte who are on long waiting lists for housing assistance because there are also many undocumented people that are also put on the same waiting list for housing assistance and it makes me sick! What is even worse is that it is mostly our locally elected black officials who are doing this to the very people who voted for them. Sad but true.
Why do we have to keep supporting them?!? They got enough support from us already. I work in a govt office and they’re getting easily 500 dollars in SNAP, 500 in TANF (money), medical insurance and free rent!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous! Enough is enough. If they can’t support themselves with all this free money, then they should be sent back.
