Do kind of you - appreciate you. This is a fun community we are building. Thanks so much and 🐻⬇️
I am 73 years old so I remember not only the 1985 Bears but the 1963 NFL Champions. In 1964 Sports Illustrated said that the Bears had the best 22 starters, but they felt that GB had the best 40 man roster ( yes teams only had 40 man rosters in 1964!). So the Bears have some quality players and some quality backups. Bears should be an exciting team. 😎

40 man rosters… what a different game! I’m a little behind you - one of my big first memories was that 85 Super Bowl (I’m 49) It’s encouraging that you see the potential in this squad - you’ve seen many versions come and go. It really feels that the real deal is coming together. So honored that you are watching - thankful for you! Do you still have that sports illustrated? 🐻⬇️

I am a Bears fan that can also remember the 63 game against the Giants that the defense won 14 to 10. We beat the hell out of YA Tittle. Our defense defenently won that game. Billy Wade was your normal Bears, not very good QB.

When I was 8yrs old, I lived in Michigan and I only got to see 2 or 3 Bears games a yr. My dad was a Lions fan, but local TV was pretty much all we had to see the games back then.

She's a long season and it's all about depth. Well it's not all about depth... it's also about having GREAT starters but one thing at a time, am I right? I'm probably crazy, but I think da Bears make the playoffs this year. We beat out Green Bay and Minnesota.

@@lexwaldez I will always agree that depth is important, but beyond that, we finally have weapons also. We are past the rebuild and our QB is a improvement if he stays healthy. I see the Bears going 10- 7 Looks like the Lions are picking up Teebo Samuel's from SF ? I also see a big improvement in Waldron over Getsy.
I really enjoy your podcasts brother, keep it up... you will jump way past 10k subscribers in a very short time

I have believed injuries were the nemesis last year and Pole's added a ton of depth to a group of young developing players!
Teven sold me with his college highlight reel. He didn’t block just to open a hole, he wanted to dominate his man. He blocked a guy all the way to his bench! He destroyed his defender then found another one and another one. The pros are obviously not college level and he’s moved around the line and had injuries but a healthy Teven Jenkins locked in at Guard is going to be scary!

I know what it's like to lose your mum so young. It's a credit to him to keep doing his job. The sooner he mentally recovers the better. I had to wait to reflect and morn (dealing with an insolvency and caring for my little bro) we dont know the other outside factors nate may be facing. Wish him the best. Considering what he's gone or going through, he is still a starter. The organisation i hope is doing its best to support him.

Praying for him. Thank you for sharing that, my friend.
The Bears used a lot if PA which has an effect on how long the QB holds the ball. Also the Bears should have won 5 of the last 6. At that rate if nothing changed the Bears would have been in line to win 14 to 15 games. Eberlus and Poles secured their Jobs by drafting a QB. I hope the Bears do it right this time with CW.
Though this sounds optimistic and there are definitely some high points to take note of, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Jenkins has been so often injured that we have to wonder how long he can hold up, both season and career-wise. His back issues remain a major concern. And his pass-blocking is suspect, to say the least. As a run-blocker, he's a beast to be reckoned with though. Nate Davis played better as the season got along but the excuse of his mother's passing is sophomoric and retarded. We've all had deaths to deal with in life ...but we don't take a year+ off to mourn. That was a lame-assed excuse and we don't have time for it. Braxton Jones is 'ok' but if he doesn't TRULY take a major step forward this season, it's time to move on and get someone in here who is not so truckable. Larry Borom, has been on and off, ....but remains a solid backup with decent size and athleticism. They'll likely discard him for better options on the roster. Lucas Patrick is now over-awed by these new and LONG overdue upgrades at Center. If they land Connor Williams, even those two guys are in jeopardy of not making the roster. Things are definitely looking up though, ...but let's try to keep some perspective, where the team and the line are VERY new and will take some serious play-time to gel and begin doing what they're capable of doing.
As a Bears fan, and a Canadian, I have hopes for Theo Benedet (UBC). Misplaced?

I don’t think it’s misplaced - he’s not gonna start this year but I think with a year to develop in the American game he could be a nice piece for the line. His arm length is a little lacking but man - I think he will play significant snaps at some point and will threaten to be on the 53 in camp. Great udfa signing!

Super thankful I’m in your plans! Let’s enjoy this offseason - and Hard Knocks is gonna be epic. 🐻⬇️
I just hope this offense continues to prioritize the run. They will lose a lot of potency in the run game without the threat of Fields keeping it but they still have to threaten to run over teams and don't become one-dimensional and pass happy. Nagy is the most extreme example of that that I can ever remember in the NFL. It puts so much pressure on the O line as well as the defense.
@SportsTalkBears1

Well said - and great breakdown! 🐻⬇️
Look this 3 year team build I would have thought that Justin was gonna reap the benefit of the team finally putting the pieces together after doing everything the team was asking him be a pocket passer he did it rollout's he did it! Now because fields wasn't drafted by Poles so instead of having to pay fields or extend his Rookie Contract and draft Harrison Jr wit that surprised # 1 pick they draft Calab and let him enjoy a team wit basically no holes for at least 4-5 years until they have to pay him I just hope he doesn't get Sacked 9 times his first game like Justin did?A die hard Bears fan
The same PFF which rates the Bears' secondary 19th? I hope they are mistakenly right about the OL. But that's the only way they could be right - BY MISTAKE.
@SportsTalkBears1
18 күн бұрын
Yeah that assessment of the secondary is absolutely incompetent… I’m gonna cover that. Nice bulletin board material right? Their assessment of the o line is supported by pfn but the secondary - they are in an island in that one lol You are fully right there - happy 4th! 🐻⬇️

Still undecided about Connor Williams. We already have two unknowns in Bates and Shelton before even considering another in Williams. Fortify the DL edge first and see what happens later if we have solid playoff viability.
Justin Fields ineptitude caused of lot of misplaced blame. They held their blocks long enough for a competent QB to make plays. No, that line isn't all pro. The center QB exchange was horrible but they held their blocks.
