I met Mongo once in a bar in Woodstock, IL. He had a drink with me and talked with me for 10 minutes in between his duties at the appearance. When I asked him about his Super Bowl ring, without hesitation he removed it and handed it to me. Like he’s done that 1,000,000 times, because he had. This is a man who was exactly who is, always. No BS. God bless you Steve. You really did hit this life fully.

He let me wear his Super Bowl ring around the bar and had not a problem with it! (He also said if I take off he would catch me)! I wish I could talk to him again and let him know how much that meant to me. I am forever greatful for his guidance on helping me and I will pray for this AWESOME MAN!!!

I'm a life long Bears fan and I must admit I don't think I would have realized this was Mongo without the video title, WOW. I remember when Payton announced his cancer. I was sitting down reading a newspaper and looked up at the TV. It was on WGN and I saw something like Payton announces health issue or something like that. So I'm watching for a couple minutes a few people are talking and all of a sudden I realize how one person is talking and answering questions it's Payton, I didn't recognize him at all, I didn't see the beginning of the conference so I didn't see them introduce Walter. What the disease did to his body. Steve best of wishes, you were a joy to watch destroy offenses with the rest of that line Dan, Richard, William on what I still believe was the best defense ever for a single year.

Mr. McMichael, I am, and will always be, a die hard Bears fan, and undoubtedly a Steve McMichael fan. You were, and still are, an incredible Bear. The memories you gave me and so many others as a fan of the 85 Bears is and will always be unmatched. You are a good man. You will always be a good man. And that woman by your side has wings if you look closely. My mom passed in October of 2020 from Dementia. I took care of her entirely by myself leading up to that very day since 2014. I miss her Steven. Steven, I would have loved to have met you. Still do. You are a good man, strong, and you have left forever your mark in football and in the hearts of all fans that admire and love you. God bless you always, and your family. Whatever is the ultimate outcome, fight as you always have to the very end. And afterwards, go on and continue being the soldier you are for all eternity.
