"Safe" part 🙄🙄, love when people who don't know anything about chicago move here and assume everything outside of "downtown" is dangerous

@@Amandalbanic Crime rates have risen and despite that chicago is still considered a relatively safe city, in fact it didn't even make the list for top 100 dangerous cities in 2022. Also the ares you looked it River North, West loop and printer's row, while being really safe also have some of the higher crime rates in the city. All of those areas are however majority white and upper class/white collar. My whole point is that chicago is a highly political city especially when it comes to neighborhoods and in this case labeling certain neighborhoods as safer than others when you don't know the history of those neighborhoods and what may or may not make them safe comes off as ignorant, as well as classist and racist. What someone else might label as safe in chicago can tell you a lot about a person. You should see this as an opportunity to educate yourself on the history of the city and the different neighborhoods before you form your opinions about what is safe or not.

@@lalaliacat9067 I was listening to family friends living in Chicago, my broker, and what other locals were telling me where the safest part for a 22 year old to live in the city would be- but I'll be sure to make smart choices regardless of where I am. Thanks for the input!

I live here, and can confirm…the violent crime is insane. Am I ever directly exposed? No of course not, but there is news every week, stabbing, shooting, it’s out of hand. Im not sure why people pretend it’s fine just cause it doesn’t happen to them.

@@Amandalbanic honestly that comment you made was incredibly ignorant and has some pretty racist undertones given that south side is largely a neighborhood full of people of color. your assumptions about crime rates directly correlate with poverty. chicago is an extremely safe city and tbh you're more likely to get mugged in the loop than in south side.

@@Amandalbanic Honey just cuz you’re in downtown doesn’t mean it’s safe 😂 I’ve lived in Chicago all my life and I live up north far from downtown and I live in an extremely safe neighborhood. Never felt unsafe once where I live. I’m a 21 year old woman, similar to you. I even feel safer in my neighborhood than when I go downtown. Lots of theft and stealing in downtown. My moms car got broken into downtown and she was in a “safe” area. I just feel like you don’t know shit about Chicago to be commenting on what part is “safe” or not. You literally just got here! All you newbies come here and are so ignorant, and think you have to be downtown to be safe when that’s farrrr from the truth. Brokers always suggest downtown to newbies because they make the most money there since everything is unnecessarily overpriced. All you had to say was you want to be downtown because of preference. Commenting on safety is just ignorance cuz you know nothing! But anyways, with ANY major city, you still need to be very careful and cautious, whether you think you’re in a “safe” neighborhood or not. That’s just what comes with living in a city.

I moved to Chicago a few months ago and grabbed a two bed in Streeterville. Couldn’t get a Covid deal unfortunately so I’m paying market rate. My friend lives in building 1 and loves it. My little brother has lived in building two for three years and LOVES it. Great price for the area. The townhouses are nice there since they have laundry in unit! You might consider South Loop. That area tends to have the best value for the money

“Safe part” was very unnecessary. It’s obvious that you would want to move to the safe part of Chicago, who wouldn’t? You emphasizing that was very inconsiderate and you were trying to be funny. SMH.

I believe there are fair and beautiful doing people that live in each city state and country; and I believe there are unfair doing people called bad and or dirty unfair behavior that live in each city state and county; however, all the apartments shown by attached 🎥 show were beautiful; but, I'm not 👀 looking for an apartment in Chicago, I'm just 👀 looking; but, if I were looking for apartment/ housing; to be honest, I don't seek for housing to make so-call friends isn't a requirement, but, to be respectful to not cause trouble is right by housing that person/s really do for for shelter out of not so pleasant weather, and for some decent rest, sleep, peace and quietness; and some privacy that's a requirement for each person to have their own space respectfully, for comfort and or for happiness ↖more so rather than to make so-call friend/s; I say so because the female advertiser spoke I think about two or three times about making so-called friends by housing advertisements that's really supposed to be for person's to have housing/shelter of their own space to be in out of certain weather to have housing respectfully, peacefully, rightfully to have some privacy.
