my first ChiaoGoo set was the 4" complete set it took some getting used to them being a newish knitter that was to be expected, then i got the 4" bamboo complete set, now i own the 5"complete set, and now the new 5" Forte 2.0 complete set. i also have the mini set for socks. i'm very much loving them all. i love the way the cables are all interchangable with each needle.

I got the 5 inch Complete Set for Christmas and I'm in looooooove. I wondered what was all the fuss about the cables and - oh boy - they are incredible! Needles and joints (and even the case) are wonderful too. I just splurged for the red and blue Shortie Needle Sets and can not wait to try them. In the future, I may also buy the 4 inch Complete Set. Please stop me!! lol

You can but individual needles as if you like to knit hats, a shorter needle works for more rows. But if you knit with two circulars, what you have works but you might want to buy extra cables. The way that works is that the gauge needles go on one end and the other end is 2 sized smaller. This makes the knitting move easily and both needles can be the same, you just only are knitting at any one time with the front needle. I have also beside the 4” complete set, I have the Red Lace Mini’s and the Blue Lace Mini’s. I knit for my grandsons in small diameters so they are very useful. Sometimes I wish I had the 5” tips and may but the few sizes I use the most instead of another kit, though it is very tempting.

@@courag1 what would u recommend to someone starting out? I have small hands but have small fiber neuropathy. I'm thinking that comfort is really important. Like should I get the 5" set and some seperated in 4" for certain projects or the other way around? I'm just starting out. I do crochet tho. I also knit continental. I've not done much knitting and it was a long time ago.

Best set I invested in. I also got the coppeler for the small set and large set. So I can use the mini red lace cable on the set. The mini red lace cables are my favorite. I also use a red heart gripper to make sure the needles stays put.

Terrific review!! I have the mini red lace kit for socks and have been quiet happy with them but for larger projects I have the driftwood Lykke 5” and have never wanted anything else. Until I started doing lace projects (of all yarn sizes)…. 😢 I have needed to replace needles due to scratches/ roughed up wood! So I’m shopping for a full sized metal set and honestly of all the reviews I’ve watched, I’m sold here! Thank you so very much! Love from MN❤

Thank you for demonstrating how to use the T keys. My cables unscrew all the time and I’m sure it’s because I’m not screwing them tight enough without using the T keys

Hi chiaogoo plz can u make these following items : Complete sets of fixed circular needles but u can package them by cord length (what i mean is sets of 16" 24" 32" etc from the smallest to the biggest needles in each set) . Also plz make needles that are similar to hiya hiya flyers or addi flexiflips for socks knitting. Also for the shorties the blue and the red plz can u make pouches that are one for the 3 " needle tips from the small to the large number . Same for the 2" ones too. And also consider making needles for ppl who their hands get cramped or numbs easily Also plz let me know if your stockists or retailers in the middle east like in lebanon .Thx plz reply and accept my suggestions

I'm in love with these needles, alas I didn't know about using the key to tighten the cable and the cable came apart during the yarn over row. AAAAAAAHG!!! Know I know, I love them again!!! I have the 4" and want to get the 5". The 4" are a little to small for me and I have smallish hands. Thank you for this video!!!

Where can I get an adapter from mini needles to small cables? The opposite is possible but not what I need. Also, the silver cables are not useable because all the yarn gets stuck where the cable can turn around. There are so many complaints about this silver cable. Will there be an update of that cable so it works without the yarn gets stuck all the time? It is really horrible

to make normal straight needles l can turn 2" needles to 4" needles. But l ove my 5" set and l use the red or blue set if l need the shoreer ones All fine! I knit for at least 44 years now and l teach knitting for over 10 years. l tested and knitted addi, knit picks/knitters pride/knit pro , all kinds of needles, set - wise. But now, after l began to knit with Chiaogoos and HiyaHiyas (l dremeled 2 pairs of adapters, L to S and S to Mini of HH so the cables fit with my CGs and HH) l will never ever want to knit with any other needle brand! The needles are perfect, the red cables are better than l thought they could be, at al the mini l love more than the S - cables. Be blessed!

Tonie Solomon look on Amazon they sell the ❤️heart silicon grippers. With the key together it will never get undone during the project.

Is 4 inch and 5 inch only preference, is there a knitting reason why to prefer the 4inch ? Thx !! Just not sure 4 inch or 5 inch and why Other than hand size

Blue shorties are US size 4-8 and use the S cables, so yes the cables will fit them. All Chiaogoo interchangeables are cross compatible within their size (M, S, L), this includes Spin cables which are with their bamboo needles and Tunisian hooks. There are also converters you can get to use a larger needle with a smaller sized cable.

Can hats be knit using the 5 inch complete?

she showed what the 4" needles look like along side the 5" needle, both sets will come with the same amount of needles. the only thing different is the cords. and i think she showed that in this video.

How much

I’d love to buy this set because I have the shorties and love the quality but it frustrates me that this set does not have a labeled spot for 3mm, 7 mm or 8mm. I don’t necessarily expect you to include the actual needles of these sizes because I know a lot of US companies do not, but if you’re going to leave extra spaces in the case for us to add our own extra needles anyway then Why not include spaces for the missing needles (3mm, 7mm, 8mm at least) in the right places? a lot of the patterns I knit require these sizes so I would definitely add them but I hate the idea of storing everything out of order. It’s a shame because the shorties case is so well planned and doesn’t skip any metric sizes (like 3mm). TL:DR if you improve to have all metric sizes I (and I imagine many others) will buy the set.
