Chiang Mai's Old City: Walls, Gates, Corner Towers, and Moat

Most tourists come to the Old City area to get a photo of the Tha Phae gate, briefly look at the moat, and hardly notice the corner towers. Some just drive by all of these historical wonders in their Tuk Tuks and taxis as they make their way to other tourist attractions.
This video is giving people more information than even a tour guide might provide. We will look at the person responsible for the walls, his influence in the region, and his interesting death. The video will also give tidbits of information and background to each of the gates and corner towers.

This is a new channel, yet to be monetized. As we travel together, you can help make this channel a success. The initial goal of this channel is to introduce people to lesser-known places within Chiang Mai. As the channel grows (and once I get my transportation), the channel will look closer at those "off the beaten track" places that tourists might find interesting (like the Gates of Hell video). Once monetized and there are many subscribers, the real goal is to take you into the many provinces that few travel to see hidden gems for your future trips. All of this will not be possible unless you help grow this channels and allow me to be your tour guide throughout Thailand.

I remember when the traffic on the moat's inner and outer roads went in the opposite direction. It changed sometime in the eighties and came as a surprise one morning. They didn't even change the traffic signs first, everyone was mad at the police directing traffic lol.
