Both of these tiny seeds can add up to some big health benefits - but which should you choose in your fight against obesity and diabetes?
1) Both seeds offer some impressive health properties - but in order to gain the nutrients locked within, you need to either grind, soak, or fully chew these seeds. Otherwise, they'll just pass through your digestive tract intact.
2) Soak chia seeds for at least 20 minutes before adding them to a smoothie in order to maximize the health benefits.
3) Chia seeds are rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber.
4) However, the carb content within chia seeds is slightly higher than the fiber amount.
5) Flaxseeds have slightly more protein and omega-3 fatty acid content than chia seeds.
6) As flaxseeds have a high-fat content, it's best to buy whole flaxseeds and grind them at home, as because they'll spoil quickly after being ground.
7) Flaxseeds are a good source of magnesium, a nutrient that can aid blood sugar control as well as many other chemical processes within our bodies.
8) Flaxseeds can be used to create a mixture similar to eggs.
9) Flaxseeds contain a high amount of alpha-linolenic acid, which can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.
10) As flaxseeds can thin your blood, it's best to avoid these seeds if you are currently taking aspirin or other blood-thinning medication.

*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

Chia & (grounded) flaxseed meal can give you gastrointestinal issues if taking too much. I was taking 2 tablespoons a day of chia seeds in my smoothies. I developed terrible bloating and gas. I stopped taking chia seeds. About 6 months later I started to ground flaxseed in my coffee grinder. I used about 1-1/2 tablespoons on my salads & other healthy recipes I would make. After adding them to my diet, about 2 weeks later the ground flaxseed started to give me gas pains, bloating, loose bowels. I stopped using ground flaxseed. In a few days I felt so much better. I decided to add only a half teaspoon of chia or flax ti my meals once every other day. So far I’ve had no gut issues. The old adage, less is more, is certainly true with these seeds

I really appreciated how simply you explained everything, and the recipes were so easy to make. I tried making it, and my mom loves it too! I will definitely be using this information and sharing it with others who are interested in making informed choices about seeds for diabetes. I recently made it with True Elements chia seeds, and it turned out amazing. Chia seeds are indeed a fantastic addition to a diabetic-friendly diet. THE HOLEY BABBLE SUMMARY OF GOD’S LOVING PLAN: Make deals knowing people will break them. Later destroy all but a chosen few. Repeat several times. Impregnate your future mother (Father, Son, Holy Ghost three in one). Get tortured and die to wipe out all sins, except of people not chosen to choose the free gift of faith. Come back on a horse and kill all the wicked with a sword. Then destroy and re-create everything. Send the unchosen many into Hell’s eternally burning darkness. Make the few chosen into pillars in the temple, which is the LORD, of the New Jerusalem made of precious metals and stones, and which comes down OUT of heaven. The End. This is what believers rely upon? Yep, sounds divinely loving, huh?
