These two made my childhood. Grew up on all their movies.
I really love these guys…I grew up with their antics and am still laughing thanks to them.
😂😂😂. I have lawyers living downstairs…we just talk on the intercom… 😂 I love all these guys!

These two were the kings of my childhood...along with Steve Martin and John Belushi, we just could not get enough. Throw in Richard Pryor and George Carlin, and you have a Quorum.
That night had an awesome guest panel. Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase, Barry Manilow and David Letterman.

Great interview, just now watched it which was my first time seeing it. Very very interesting to see the easy listening pop star legend Barry manilow sitting along with Chevy chase as they both had the roles as the singer and the actor in the same movie "Foul play ". Chevy and Dan made great appearances together in movies and outside of the movies! Both are comedy gold and will forever be comedy legends for the marvelous work they did in their careers!!!
Greatest comedians in their prime!
my mom LOVED Chevy, i like Chevy. But i believe Dan is more accomplished.
Three geniuses I will pray for America. Please pray for me. God Bless you.

@@michaelkupfer3723 - You cannot pray for people all over the world yourself, Mike? Maybe you should pray for the people on the International Space Station too, Mike. Let's not leave anyone out. Mike, do you believe both in aliens and that they have damnable souls? Well, you had better pray for them too. We would not want to fall short of an exhaustive list here, M-dog. Me oh my! In all of this looking outward, I almost forgot! Pray for yourself too! Hey Mike, make something, create something, and do something. Get off your butt and live a life in the real world that gives back to the world (since you care so much about the whole wide world).
Aykroyd is such a gem - you can tell he’s kind-hearted and sweet. By contrast, Chevy gives off such an arrogant and obnoxious vibe. Both funny in their own respects, but I’d rather have a drink with Danny any day.

Dan's hilarious. He used to show up in our area in disguise. I guess his Dad used to live around here. He'd show up in music events and other tourist attractions. Once in awhile he'd show up on tv or in the paper doing a quick picture & interview.

That's Chevys persona , he HAS to ride it. And he takes the opportunity to undercut as much as he can if you look out for it. Don't you understand the audience loves the cocky guy. You *are* American? He was Americas #1 Cocky Asshole. You are out of time context completely and have ZERO perspective and not only that you take the your contemporary social vitrue signalling contextual mindset and project it onto a little bit of mid 80s late evening light entertainment business from 40 years ago. Its completely sad.

Oh, hell, yes. Dan is the funnier one, too. Imho. I'd also say he's more versatile than Chase. Chase is more of a one-note performer. Aykroyd is adept at both comedy and drama.

@@Bootrosgali nah, there are plenty of accounts of Chevy being an insufferable a-hole off camera, too. He came from an extremely wealthy and emotionally abusive family, which clearly left a few marks on his character. And his comedic style really doesn’t hold up well in retrospect, whereas Dan’s (and many others from his era) does. His career mostly dried up by the mid-90s when the rest of the world decided to move on.
I agree, Chevy, while funny, is said by many that in his advanced age, is a legend in his own mind 😅

If the 1991 Dan Aykroyd interview is somewhere, someone should post it. Chevy is such a show-off, obviously loves attention and hogs up the screentime a lot but Dan is underrated, he's very precious and adorable.

No. This was the "troubled" year with Randy Quaid, Joan Cusack, Robert Downey Jr. and Anthony Michael Hall. They had only been on for about four episodes by this point. Chevy did their second one. By the end of the season, NBC gave Lorne an ultimatum, find a new cast or the show would be cancelled. Jon Lovitz, Dennis Miller and Nora Dunn were the only ones from this cast to survive into the next year.
Spys is a hilarious movie with this funny duo. Also funny is that people who don't actually know these two in real life considers one to be the "arrogant" one. Whatever.

Dan is amazing but you have to accept he was not leading role leading man material. He was always superb supporting. Chevy was able to be in a lead role and carry the movie.

Hi Leonard how are you 😊
Chevy is completely self-centered.
Chase is one of the least funny people ever.
And now SNL has turned to 💩
Belushi was better than both of them combined.
Chevy is kind of a jerk here.
They both made the mistake of starring in Caddyshack 2 and "Nothing But Trouble." Some of the worst movies ever made. Chevy Chase has always been prone to making terrible career decisions.
Akroyd developed fantastic characters and was genuinely funny. Chase could be occasionally funny but is by many accounts a monstrous asshole to people that have worked around him on different sets.
